Octavia, Lupita, Viola, and Laura. Depends on the role, not sure who next…

Vikander. She’s gonna be like Swank. String of irrelevant post-win movies and then one right role and boom she gets the second win.

    That feels very right.

Leo — I know she’s a bit of a pariah over her f-bomb Oscar speech but she’s an extraordinary actress with more range than everyone else who followed her. Some enterprising filmmaker will utilize her in an undeniable role.

Hathaway — Her thirst is consistent and I feel like despite public hate she’s well regarded within the Academy.

Spencer — This coattail wonder will continue to accumulate nods and eventually the conversation will be she deserves a 2nd.

Davis — She has the luxury of having a career denied to Alfre Woodard and Cicely Tyson. She’ll get a 2nd.

I’m just here to tell you all that Melissa Leo should have won another Oscar for Novitiate, one of my favorite performances ever.

Y’all funny for real. Davis mostly won because not only she has the performance, but the consensus was that she must have an Oscar.

    — They will never give her a second one lol.

Nobody for what, 16 years intended to give Zellweger a Best Actress Oscar — here we are under unusual circumstances. There will be a 2nd Black best actress winner. Davis is positioned to be that if she becomes a multi-nominee in the category.

2017-2018, Allison Janey’s year. Melissa was highly predicted to get nominated right at the beginning, but she ended up like Alfre Woodard for Clemency.

You should see it! What a fucking powerhouse, she eats you and spits you out.

Agreed here. Melissa Leo was incredible in “Novitiate.” I also think she’s extremely versatile. She can do dramatic and comedic when given the chance. See her Emmy win for “Louie,” which was lauded at the time as an extremely deserving win.

That movie had Sony Classics backing and was written and directed by a Black woman. Not having seen it I was upset she couldn’t gain traction during the season.

I still have not seen Clemency either, but it sure is on my list!

Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer are hot commodities right now. Won’t be surprised if they get 7 or 8 noms in the next 20 years.

    Everybody else, I don’t know. I don’t think so?

I just love movies. And awards.
