2018 Goldderby Rankings! (RESULTS ANNOUNCED)

Hi everyone,
It’s time again for my favourite annual event, the Goldderby rankings! This is entirely different from the Goldderby awards, and though I’ve run it the past few years, it relies just as much on other forum posters like you to participate! It is also exceptional in that it goes far beyond a top ten list and lets you express a fuller spectrum of opinion on the year in film.
For those who aren’t familiar with them, the Goldderby Rankings are based on the grades provided by users for ALL the films that came out in the past year, compiled into a top 10 list based on an average given to each film. Past winners include: Persepolis, Whiplash, The Social Network, Her, Inside Out, OJ: Made in America, and last year’s Call Me By Your Name.
The film grades will be awarded points in the following way:
A+ = 5
A = 4.5
A- = 4
B+ = 3.75
B = 3.5
B- = 3
C+ = 2.75
C = 2.5
C- = 2
D+ = 1.75
D = 1.5
D- = 1.25
F = 1
Each weekend, the grades will be calculated, and on Sunday, I’ll reveal a running top 10 list, including it at the bottom of this post as well. The event will close on March 2nd at midnight Pacific Time, and the results will be announced on March 3rd, giving everyone over a month to see as many films as they can. Grades can be posted in this thread or PM’d to me. This event is open to all Goldderby members who have joined before 2018, or who have posted at least 25 times on the site (which should be fairly easy to get in the next month if you’re not already there). The more ratings we get, the better!
A film must have at least 5 ratings in order to appear on the rankings, and I do ask that if you are adding ratings to your list, you either post it to the thread, or somehow mark the change in your post, to ensure I don’t miss it. That’s it, so get to viewing and send in those lists!

More like Bless my rewards card at the movie theater 🙂 And Netflix, HBO, Starz, and Showtime. But seriously bless my rewards card and the perfect timing when I got it sine I have points saved up since 2003. Most of the time I literally don’t pay and the ticket is only like 25 points
