I can only see Black Panther getting in for 4 categories: -Best Original Song (All the Stars, Kendrick Lamar & SZA or Pray For Me by The Weeknd & Kendrick Lamar) -Best Visual Effects -Best Make Up & Hairstyling maybe if the voters are too drunk -Best Adapted Screenplay (maybe? Logan got in this year)
I definitely wouldn’t leave out costumes and production design. With a long shot for cinematography. I’d say that’s it’s max though.
I could see a narrative building where they want to give Ryan Coogler something. I bet he won’t get a director nomination, but I could see him getting a screenplay nod. It just has to build from where it’s at now, and have a similar year as last year. I could see the same narrative for Jordan but that’s a reach. Probably 5 nods and then backlash when it doesn’t get into picture.

I’m confused by that too–do you not want Heller nominated because she’s a woman, or do you feel her direction isn’t good?
