    Critics Choice Predictions

    Picture: Parasite
Director: Martin Scorsese (I think the controversy will help him with critics groups)
    Actor: Joaquin Phoenix
    Actress: Scarlett Johansson
    Supporting Actor: Brad Pitt
    Supporting Actress: Laura Dern

I am predicting Driver for the Oscars at the moment, I think Phoenix will do better at the Critics Choice do the influx of online critics from sites like Collider who adore superhero films.

If you believe they’ll give Joaquin C.C it’s because they think he’s going to win the Oscar. If it was Driver they’d also give it to him for the same reason.

If Driver’s winning the Oscar I don’t see why he’d lose this.

I honestly believe the Critics’ Choice Awards are rigged. The convenient ties between Gaga and Close, and Adams and Arquette, suggest this.

So true at this point it wouldn’t surprise me if Driver and Phoenix tied this time

Has that ever happened with this group? That would be perfect for me and it would leave us more confused about the final outcome.
It’s a great way to hedge their bets if they’re not sure.

The critics Choice is a joke. All they do is predict the Oscars and try to influence the race.

Not even that. They could really try to influence the race by going with the real critic’s favourites and boosting their chances a little and instead they are just going with Globe winners. Going along with McDormand, Oldman, Janney, Rockwell and not awarding any of the actual critic’s choices was fucking tragic.

They have too much influence, which pisses me off. And their mission statement is to maintain an image as the best prognosticators on the planet.

Lol. Exactly. That Close Gaga tie last year was laughable and obviously staged.

I think Parasite will definetely win Picture here, just like Roma did last year. Probably Director as well. Original Screenplay is more of a battle between this film and Marriage Story though

    Supporting Actress: Laura Dern

    Adapted Screenplay: Jojo Rabbit

Original Screenplay: Parasite or Marriage Story (can’t decide yet)

BP: Parasite, Jojo Rabbit, Joker, Ford v Ferrari, Marriage Story,
BD: Bong-Joon Ho, Taika Waititi, Todd Phillips, Noah Baumbach
Actor: Joaquin Phoenix, Robert Pattinson, Adam Driver, Roman Griffin Davis, Christian Bale
    Actress: Scarlett Johansson, Lupita Nyong'o
    S. Actor: Willem Dafoe, Song Kang-Ho, Sam Rockwell, Al Pacino, Alan Alda
    S. Actress: Laura Dern, Thomasin McKensie, Cho Yeo-Jeong

This group takes no risks, if you want to predict their nominees take the top 7-8 in each category by GD odds and there you have it.

My personal Top 5 of 2019 so far:
    1) Parasite 2) The Farewell 3) Once Upon a Time in Hollywood 4) The Irishman 5) Knives Out
