I just switched to Sam Mendes. I have a mixed history with taking chances. I’m gonna kick myself if Bong Joon Ho does win it, but we’ll just have to see.January 24, 2020 at 7:55 pm #1203303358
Going down the Mendes ship but the last time I did that Once lost PGA.January 24, 2020 at 11:01 pm #1203303571
This is the most important precursor 1917 has to win if it wants to solidify its frontrunner status. This is because virtually all the time, whoever wins at DGA also wins BD. And since 1917 is not winning screenplay, the only way it has to win BP is to also win BD. Which means, if anyone else but Mendes wins tomorrow, it’s all statistically over for 1917.January 25, 2020 at 12:45 am #1203303619
I cant believe Sam Mendes is winning in a year with several masterpieces.
I’m predicting Bong lol, NGNG.January 25, 2020 at 2:46 am #1203303689
If Mendes does not win, 1917 would have to make a “Rebecca” which won for best picture and cinematography.January 25, 2020 at 5:41 am #1203303790
I am really hoping that Alma Har’el wins in her category! She did such a magnificent job of directing what is a truly great movie! (:
I will be extremely surprised if Sam Mendes isn’t the winner for Feature Film.January 25, 2020 at 6:15 am #1203303827
Sam Mendes deserves to win this and I really hope he wins.January 25, 2020 at 7:28 am #1203303939
I currently have Bong Joon-ho only because of the passion for Parasite and I have a feeling that it’s the same thing for the directors. But Mendes could also win for the same reason. But I’m giving Bong the edge.
What I am looking forward to is when they interview all the feature film nominees the morning before the ceremony. I mean given the line-up, it’s going to be a very fun interview. Even with just Taika Waititi alone and then threw in Tarantino. It’s going to be wild.
