1917 beat Parasite on a preferential ballot at PGA and on a straight vote at DGA. PGA agrees with Oscar 70% of the time and when PGA and DGA match up they have always agreed with Oscar apart from one time in the last 25 years (La La Land).

PGA is only producers voting. Also you’re ignoring Apollo 13 and Brokeback Mountain. If you can’t even get your history right, why should I take you seriously?

Because the 5 films that won PGA + DGA yet lost BP mainly lost due to backlash or fatigue. 1917 hasn’t had issues with either and there’s no room for it to happen at this point.

People could feel like it didn’t live up to its hype, the biggest factor that hurt fellow December release La La Land. Don’t pretend 1917 wasn’t massively anticipated leading up to its release.

The PGA winner usually does. It’s not necessarily done for Parasite but it doesn’t look good. Unless they pull a Moonlight, their only safe bet is Foreign Language Film. They did win SAG and the actors branch is the biggest branch in the Academy. HOWEVER, only a small portion of SAG members are in the Academy. 1917 is the frontrunner with Parasite in 2nd for sure.

Yeah we have to remember that SAG-AFTRA is about 160,000 voters and consists of TV and radio people. It’s by far the most populist guild and doesn’t really equate to the actor’s branch of the academy which is around 2000 voters.

It’s not like all of the producers and directors are into 1917. Also, remember that Parasite has strong support from the actors branch which is the largest of them all.

Yet La La Land faced massive backlash and 1917 has been under the radar the entire season? LLL was DRAGGED and people got tired of it. Not to mention this season is shorter than usual, clearly the industry has no issues with 1917 judging by it’s performance so far and there’s no room to start massive backlash at this point.

I also pointed out his ignorance. But how could I have forgotten Saving Private Ryan and Gravity?

Ok I made a mistake but the only relevant ones are in the preferential ballot era anyway and Gravity doesn’t count because it tied at PGA with 12 Years a Slave.

I can’t deal with that clown anymore. Had to put him on my ignored list. He doesn’t realise PGA + DGA as a pair have only gone to one non BP winner in the last 25 years and that was La La Land which was of course a very special situation.

His level of delusion is kind of entertaining. LOL!

1917 is pulling a TSOW with Picture + Director + some tech awards.

The problem with that is that Parasite in no way resembles 3 Billboards which had massive backlash. Parasite is way closer to Moonlight.

As I said in another post we can’t equate SAG-AFTRA with the actor’s branch of the Academy. SAG-AFTRA is 160,000 voters and the actor’s branch is about 2000 voters. It mainly won as a protest vote anyway as many voters shared on Twitter.

I’m not comparing its competition just the Oscars it will win.

Is he just a troll or is he actually that deluded?

Same thing goes for every branch as PGA has around 9,000 members while there are only 500 producers in the Academy. And LOL at that last sentence, imagine believing that.
