It’s a dramedy, which usually go Comedy at the Globes.

Depending on Netflix’s confidence in it (and we’ll know reception in just a week!) i think Marriage Story could for sure go Drama. Manchester by the Sea was kinda hilarious at times, as was Three Billboards and both went drama so as to be taken seriously as top 3 contenders rather than the typical indie-dramedy hovering around 10th place in picture with only a screenplay and acting nomination super likely (The Big Sick, Eighth Grade, 20th Century Women, likely the Farewell this year). Then again I guess Lady Bird still went comedy, so who knows.

I think Brittany Runs a Marathon will be this year’s Trainwreck. I am expecting noms Jillian Bell for Best Actress and the film for Best Comedy (if Oscar contending dramas aren’t taking up space here).

It was such a good film. Would love for it to sneak into Best Original Screenplay. Preferred this much more than The Farewell, which I also liked.

Marriage Story has to go drama. Unless you’re Jack Nicholson, playing Ray Charles or riding the hype of the biggest Oscar bait of all time (The Artist), a Best Actor Musical/Comedy Globe will NOT drive you to the Oscar.

It’s a different song for women, but we all know that male comedic performances are not taken seriously. Half of them are fillers and don’t even get the Oscar nom 💀

Just give Leo the award since he’s not winning the Oscar anyway and give Adam a chance to actually be competitive

Jlo is not getting a nom for an umpteenth mediocre comedy. She’s hasn’t been considered for a major award since like 2000.

We have good buzz on Hustlers (and her performance specifically), its the HFPA, and is tracking to be a hit.

Please, we’re talking about Jlo, a name that basically cancels any chance of major award recognition. At best she’ll attend as a presenter and will appear on a best dressed list but certainly not the nominee list. No way she’s getting a nom over actual respected actresses for a stripper role in a cute flick

That sounds even more delusional than those members acting like Taylor Swift will somehow get a Musical Lead Actress nom

I’m pretty sure I already got the twist from the trailer lol but Emilia is def coming for that Comedy nomination. It also looks like she might’ve chosen this project because she related to the character with her aneurysms. Looks cute and hopefully she sticks to comedy since that seems to be her strength/focus.

With the amount of praise she’s gotten for her work in season 8 why should she limit herself? If she wants to do comedy here and there fine, but she’s clearly great at both (especially when given the right material) so it wouldn’t make sense for her to only focus on one lane.

She has a drama (let me count the ways) lined up next so it’s pretty obvious she has no plans to only do comedy.
