Original Screenplay: I just swapped in “Parasite” for “Once Upon a Time.”February 3, 2020 at 5:05 am #1203327465
Hahaha, I moved Parasite to win Best Picture instead of 1917. Crazy, right?
I love both films, and I will be happy for both to win!February 3, 2020 at 5:36 am #1203327491
Klaus over Toy Story 4. Klaus would be the first animated winner without a PGA nomination but that also applies to BAFTA. I also sense a ‘been there, done that’ sentiment towards the fourth instalment of a franchise.February 3, 2020 at 5:36 am #1203327493
Yes, I have reluctantly accepted that Joker is going to win Original Score ): I am hoping this is one of those times I am wrong and Thomas Newman will finally win a well-deserved Oscar! (:February 3, 2020 at 5:44 am #1203327515
Both Screenplay categories. I’ve been harping it on for a long time, but I really do think Parasite and Jojo Rabbit make too much sense on paper. BAFTA confirmed what I was predicting.
Top 3 Films of the Year: Parasite, The Farewell, OUATIHFebruary 3, 2020 at 5:46 am #1203327517
Now I’m predicting both Jojo Rabbit and Parasite do take screenplay awards. And Klaus to win over Toy Story 4 (the Annies also went with it).February 3, 2020 at 5:51 am #1203327524
I’m changing my Adapted Screenplay prediction back to Jojo Rabbit. For a while it looked like Little Women had all the momentum with CC and USC Scripter wins, but the fact that Jojo won WGA and BAFTA right in the middle of Oscar voting this year, plus that TIFF stat (No People’s Choice winner has ever gone home empty handed except for 2011) have made it the frontrunner once again.
I’m also committing to predicting Klaus in Animated. With a BAFTA win and Annie sweep it looks like the film to beat. Clearly Toy Story 4 doesn’t have the passion it’s predecessor did.

best picture is now locked for 1917, and FvF will get editing.
Parasite will still win 2 Oscars (screenplay & international feature).February 3, 2020 at 6:33 am #1203327575
Yes. I changed my Best Adapted Screenplay prediction from The Irishman to Jojo Rabbit.
It’s also the final time I’m changing any of the major categories, because I don’t see the results of the Independent Spirit Awards pushing Marriage Story ahead in the Picture or Original Screenplay categories, even if it wins both.February 3, 2020 at 6:50 am #1203327599
Costumes change to little women, adapted screenplay to jojo rabbit.February 3, 2020 at 7:09 am #1203327612
I’m still struggling between 1917 v Hollywood in Production Design? Parasite v. FvF in editing? Animated Feature?February 3, 2020 at 7:39 am #1203327642
Switched to Joker for score
Switched to FvF for editing
Switched to Bombshell for makeupFebruary 3, 2020 at 7:48 am #1203327650
Adapted: Little Women to JoJo
Original: OUATIH to Parasite
Costume: JoJo to Little Women
VFX: Lion King to 1917February 3, 2020 at 8:32 am #1203327713
Good stuff, we have the exact same predictions.
What’s your reasoning on the short categories?
Well, in documentary I have Learning to Skateboard because I see it as the clearly frontrunner so I haven’t put much tougth to it.
In live action I have The Neighbors’ Window. Altough I found Brotherhood better as a film I think it has a kind of open ended conclusion (as opposed to TNW). I have to see Nefta Football Club, but I think if it’s a comedy I would not pick it.
In animated is a toss between Kitbull and Hair Love. I like them both, but I have Kitbull for now because is has animals in it and a better user score in imdb (don’t know if that helps though).
Last year I managed to get the three shorts right but I guess it was more luck than anything.
