I’m fully in Phoenix’s corner but I don’t feel the need to trash other performances to prop him up. If I don’t like any of the nominated performances I will say so of course but it won’t be because I liked Phoenix’s.

Darlings, Thatcher really appreciates your hopes in keep saying we’ll have another Best Actor winner than Joke, but it is CLOSED. He’s not only sadly winning the Oscar, he’s SWEEPING every single televised award. I can’t wait for the meltdowns here from Nose stans.

Neither Driver nor Phoenix. Sasha Stone saw 1917 and says there is a new frontrunner. https://www.twitter.com/AwardsdailyNews/status/1198693977471385600

I would take that with a grain of salt. Most of the tweets have singled out the technical side as frontrunners not the acting categories.

And let’s not forget Sasha didn’t like Marriage Story hence, at every opportunity she’s denigrating it’s award prospects in favour of her love for Dolemite is My Name. She still thinks Driver is going to miss a SAG nom which is highly unlikely.

Chapman and MacKay probably aren’t even going to be in the top 20 lol.

“No user starts this shady” - someone culturally relevant.

Also got banned because...reasons? So, I guess ciao.

Darling, your sense of humour is so straight that’s almost homophobic.

Joker isn’t considered too different for the Oscar yet Midsommar and endgame are come on the double standard here eel gets me.

After seeing The Irishman, I’m confident in solidifying De Niro as a lock for the nomination. He gives the audience a piece of all his beloved performances rolled up into one and is kind of the heart of the film. If having to choose between him and DiCaprio for the fifth slot, I’d give it to him in a heartbeat.

He is a comfortable 3rd behind Driver and Phoenix.

He is a lock for nomination.

At least we won’t get both DiCaprio and Sandler nominated. That would be a huge mess (and annoying as hell).

Murphy deserves. Joaquin really made history with his work. Incredibly happy for him.

What makes you say that with such authority?

No one here has authority at all lol. Man, it’s just my preference and hope other contenders get a time in the spotlight. DiCaprio has been better and I have never bought Sandler as a successful dramatic actors. There have been good moments, but that’s it.

I am sorry,I misinterpreted it.I thought you are pretty sure about those things.

I think the Top 5 right now (and all are vulnerable):

    Joaquin Phoenix – Joker
    Adam Driver – Marriage Story
Robert De Niro – The Irishman
Leonardo DiCaprio – Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
Antonio Banderas – Pain & Glory

Nipping at their heels for a nom:

Jonathan Pryce – The Two Popes
Eddie Murphy – Dolemite Is My Name
    Adam Sandler – Uncut Gems

Pryce and Murphy could get in at the expense of DiCaprio and De Niro, but I have a hard time picturing these huge stars in huge Best Picture contenders missing out on noms. Sandler was probably never going to happen but he does stand something of a chance still to score a nom.
