I cannot believe they nominated Leo. I know he is a great guy but this is too much…

Though he wouldn’t have made my personal Top5 but I wonder why are you surprised?

He made it to every major precursor along with many other critics nomination and he is DiCaprio.
He has become a strong force around award bodies since Wall Street.
This is his 3rd straight nomination and I am certain he’ll be nominated for KOFM too in 2022.

    Not that shocking at all.

Leo was fantastic in OUATIH. And he’s also playing a struggling, middle tier actor that has his best days behind him. You realize that’s like 85% of the industry right? Lol

And even if the performance wasn’t good, he is in the favorite for best picture, and imo him and Brad Pitt as a duo make the movie. I don’t see how you could nominate one without the other.

By the way, Thatcher did guarantee Banderas was making it and he did!

The sheer power of imperialism damn.

Adam Driver tho… lol! at least he knows he ain’t winning, so no pressure whatsoever when he attends the show.

Lol @ peeps saying Joker was disliked, divise and whatever in the US… 11 nods. You guys tried at it.

I didn’t expect Marriage Story to fizzle out like it has. It is this years A Star Is Born and Dern will be it’s token win

    Your right absolutely.

DiCaprio made Rick Dalton more interesting with his abilities.
It could have been just a whiny aging actor but DiCaprio decisions made the character somewhat interesting.

Rick Dalton’s stutter was his idea, forgetting lines during Lancer scene and melting down was his idea.
So best moments and layers to his character was his improvisation.

    He’s a deserving nominee.

The writings been on the wall for MS for a few weeks now even before the Globes. People just didn’t want to acknowledge it.

I got nervous and took him out when Egerton won the GG award ): I went 4 for 5 though.

    So did I.

Also, we predicted it, but is anyone else getting sick of all the score nominations for Star Wars for recycle after recycle? You know, like Rise of Skywalker?

Plenty of people disliked it. Just because it got a bunch of nods doesn’t mean it’s divisive. Bohemian Rhapsody got four wins and it’s still divisive.

Sad for Egerton, he worked hard to get there. If he wins BAFTA it could be interesting.

I support Phoenix, but an expectation would be more fun.

I’m also kicking myself for taking out Jojo Rabbit for Costume Design.

This Best Actor field was the toughest in recent memory.
