I believe the song from Marriage Story would be a definite lock (is it an original?) as it summarizes all the feelings from Adam Driver’s character perspective of the lengthy and exhaustive divorce process…and he sang it very well too!

Ugh I wish lol but it’s not an original song.

Warming up to Stand Up. But I’m still stanning The Ugly Truth from UglyDolls only because my low self-esteem is living for that song.

I just love movies. And awards.

Beyoncé will NOT win an Oscar for Spirit and would NEVER surpass Reputation Tour. She couldn’t even win an Emmy for the hyped Homecoming.

    Beyhive is so delusional

Ok but this has nothing to do with tours. And even if Spirit doesn’t win, neither is Taylor…

Such an interesting story behind the best Original Song contender I have heard so far this year. I really hope this can squeak in the race this year and it appears they’re campaigning. The song is integral to the plot of the film, and I’m always going to prefer a song that has value to the story rather than just throwing in an original song to have one.

Well, the Lopezes are winning again. Into The Unknown is such a showstopper in the movie than Beautiful Ghosts.

Beautiful Ghosts isn’t bad. But it’s not winning. Into the Unknown is only winning by default.

I just listened to “Beautiful Ghosts”…. and “SPIRIT” is still the best song out of all the contenders i’ve heard.

“Spirit” will likely not be nominated. It’s not very good or original. Despite a huge campaign it failed to gain any fans outside of the BeeHive.

After my initial listen to “Beautiful Ghosts” I think I like it, I was just thrown off a bit by Taylor’s vocal performance. No offense to her, but I would have liked for someone with better vocal chops to have recorded the song. I’ll have to reserve my judgement until I hear the film version performed by one of the actors in Cats.

I disagree. “Beautiful Ghosts” made me wanna sleep, it’s lyrics are nothing special and Taylor Swifts voice is horrible in that song. Maybe it would be better if someone with a better voice sung it.

I listened to Idina Menzel’s “Into The Unknown” and it’s less interesting and worse than Panic!s… and even that one wasn’t anything special. I’m not confident in “Spirit” landing a nomination but it is indeed better than most of these contenders, including the two I just mentioned.

I have no idea what  you’re talking about. There was NO campaign for “Spirit” whatsoever.
