Olivia Wilde in Richard Jewell…is the buzz real?

Yet she has internal competition from Bates. And since the Jewell constituency at the Academy skews older this benefits the veteran of the two.

Ok I saw Marriage Story last night and fully support a Laura Dern sweep!!

She is only in the film for a few scenes but the ones she’s in, you are left wanting SO MUCH MORE! She is SO feisty in the courtroom scene.. fucking hilarious actually! And even thought that speech about mothers and double standards is short, the delivery was SO Renata Klein and my audience was hollering and clapping afterward

Nothing gives me more joy than to see a bunch of grown ups shiver in their boots over the prospects of a former Fly girl receiving her just due with an Oscar nomination.

    J.LO really has ya’ll SHOOK!

Lol. C’mon, this is a hard working woman who is terrific in Out of Sight and Selena. Can’t comment on her music nor judging gigs.
If it happens, I’d be happy for her.

Jennifer Lopez was great in Hustlers! She’s a revelation! I loved her in Selena and she did it again with this movie! She deserves the spotlight she’s getting. I hope the Oscars nominate her as she’s fantastic in that amusing movie! I would be very happy if she gets the nomination!

I just saw Downton Abbey and Maggie Smith deserves to get nominated for Supporting Actress at the Oscars, SAG, Golden Globes, etc.

It should not matter if she shows up or not at the award shows.

Let’s be real. Maggie Smith isn’t getting nominated for playing a role she did a thousand times and better than this.

Out of curiosity, have you seen Downton Abbey or are you making general statements?

I know she won’t take it, but I’d be so happy if Shuzhen Zhao won the Oscar. She was absolutely wonderful in The Farewell. So heartwarming, tragic, and hilarious.

That being said, I’m sure Laura Dern’s winning. And I’m sure her performance is as Oscar worthy as everybody says it is.

Yeah, I hope the grandma from “The Farewell” gets nominated. Her character was so funny and complex but the actress was able to make it very real and relatable.

I don’t think Maggie Smith has any shot at getting nominated. Maybe at the BAFTAs. The film was also released too early and it was a thing just in UK. Definitely not an Oscar player.

All I have are negative thoughts

If Laura Dern were not the slam-dunk she is presumed to be, Shuzhen Zhao would make sense as an upset prediction; a heartwarming matriarchal role from an outsider veteran to whom voters would want to nod their approval.
