Still say Scarlett’s winning this if Renée and Charlize are her main competitors. Netflix is gonna go all out with campaigning for MS.

Theron- Lionsgate (winner of 2 acting awards, Best Picture and Best Director)

Johansson- Netflix (winner of Best Director)

Zellweger- Roadside (Winner of nothing) lol

To be fair, Roma was like the first big contender for Netflix lol.

    This is a weak argument…

It’s a great argument. It shows which studios are great at campaigning and which ones aren’t.

You want to highlight it even more because they did the impossible. For a movie like that to win Best Picture it shows their power.

The power that they couldn’t repeat in 2016 when they swept with LLL?

That even showed more Power. 14 nominations. More than any studio.

For crying out loud it looks like I’m alone again in being fine with Crash. It wasn’t my favorite though. My heart is with BBM forever.

Well, but Netflix got ROMA nominated almost everywhere – it got 10 Oscar nominations, winning 3, which is a lot for a foreign language film and a Netflix movie (because of the Netflix bias).
And Netflix was able to get 4 noms for MUDBOUND the year before (including BSActress and BAScreenplay).
    .
Só I’m buying the fact Johansson is stronger than we think because of the Netflix machine. Netflix might be new in the Oscar campaign underworld but they sure got some recognition for their previous contenders

It’ll be more like pig blood than tea.
