Janelle Monáe had BETTER be coming for that Oscar nomination! She was better than Octavia in Hidden Figures and deserved that nomination slot. There, I said it.

Just out of curiosity, if Maggie Smith wins for supporting actress, would she be the first person to win both an Emmy and an Oscar for the same role? It’s not entirely out of the realm of possibility, and it would be pretty crazy if she were the first.

Just came from the future: I was attending the 2020 Oscars and they showed last years winners and I decided to to back in time to this Sunday and Cooper, Colman, Weisz, and Grant win the acting Oscars.

    “COOPER”? sure Jan

Will Meryl streep get two nominations? Best actress for the Laundromat and Best supporting actress for Little women. I dont have her in my best actress predictions but I have her in my supporting actress predictions.

I actually agree. But Octavia was ROBBED for Fruitvale Station so I see this as a make up nod.

I wish HBO would do limited theatrical releases. It’s so disappointing to see amazing movies’ Oscar chances ruined by HBO. I honestly do believe that Laura Dern could have won an Oscar for The Tale, and that Jennifer Fox could have gotten screenplay awards. The film as a whole would have gotten so much more attention and awards love, if only it had been released in theaters and given a stronger awards push by a major studio. Instead, virtually no one talked about it or saw it, and Dern only became a nominee at TV awards shows because of her name recognition. It was so damn disappointing, and now we’ll probably see it again with Native Son.

So, should we be predicting Taron Egerton for a Best Actor nom for portraying Elton John in Rocketman? After Malek’s nom this year I think anything is now possible with beloved, real life musicians. I don’t think the Rocketman trailer looks very promising, but hey, neither was Bohemian Rhapsody 🙂

They’ve done limited theatrical runs for some of their documentaries.
