    @gabarnes43

    Do you think Elisabeth Moss will also have a chance for The Kitchen? She seems to have a few irons in the fire this year and I really hope she gets in for one of them. The Kitchen seems to be her best bet, since apparently she doesn’t have much screen time in Us and Her Smell is an indie movie with a very early release date.

    And what about Taron Egerton in Lead Actor? When you skim through the comments on the Rocketman trailer, you would think he already has the Oscar in the bag lol But I am not sold on it and it seems highly unlikely since Rami Malek´s win for a similar role in a similar type film will affect his chances negatively.

    I don’t think Taron Edgerton will be nominated for Rocketman for a few reasons:

    1. It has a May Release Date, way too early if it wants awards attention.
    2. Elton John has a big following but Queen had a huge following so theres not as much comparison.
    3. I have heard the film is good but not anything special or out of the ordinary.

    I’d like to reiterate that Us isn’t going to do well awards-wise. Because it’s a horror movie, and they don’t do well with awards. Silence of the Lambs doesn’t count, it was decades ago. Get Out did so well largely because of the thought-provoking racial aspect of it, á la Black Panther. On the other hand, Us is just a horror movie, albeit probably a very good one.

    The May release date might be a problem, yes. However, I read that Rocketman was screen tested last month and received a phenomenal reaction from the audience. If it makes money and does well with the critics, I could see it getting in despite the release date. We will see I guess.

    @Counselor

    Oh wow, seems like WB’s plate is quite full. Out of those movies, The Goldfinch might actually be the biggest award bait. I am excited to see what Ansel Elgort will do with his role. A promising young actor I think.

    Green Book literally won this year and that movie was white washed as hell!!! They’re being fake woke so I don’t think a racial aspect will have a fact! Here’s what I think they do, OOOH BLACK PEOPLE IN A MOVIE!!!! LETS BE “woke” AND NOMINATE AND AWARD IT IN A COUPLE OF CATAGORIES SO WE DONT LOOK LIKE RACIST PIECES OF SHIT.😂

    So I’ve just seen a couple of Us commercials and they need to stop showing them lol. They even showed what I’m guessing is a huge plot point in them smh.

    Edit: OH MY GOD ANOTHER ONE I CAN’T (I’m about to watch the whole movie before I even go to the theater)
