Pesci will NOT be nominated for playing the same role he played his whole career. One Oscar and a nomination was enough already.

I thought reviews said he isnt playing the same role. He is very understated. Thats why I am not predicting him. In cases in recent past where another actor was in contention in same category, they were just as showy as the frontrunner: Damy and Leo, Woody and Rockwell, etc.

The Irishman score increased on Metacritic and remains same 100% on RT with 70 reviews post BFI.

    Ima so excited about this.

Guardian calls The Irishman best Scorsese movie since Goodfellas.

Scorsese deserves 2 BD Oscars btw.

    This can be it.

Darlings, Bombshell is going to be the movie of the year. I can smell it. It is going to serve. Our classy wigs are not ready.

While Woody had his fair share of juicy material, I thought Rockwell was way more showy. Even when he made it into the precursors, I didn’t think he was gonna get nominated since Rockwell’s performance overshadowed his. Before I figured a lot of his votes came from fans of the film who realized that Rockwell was such a strong frontrunner and decided to help Harrelson by giving him their number 1 votes since he was more of an underdog. But thinking about it now, I realize that he was also very likely helped by his role being one of the most sympathetic and likable characters in the story.

Anyway, now that we have all these Bombshell reactions, is there any word on where it should be placed at the Globes? The trailer makes it look like a straight drama, but it’s currently listed as a comedy on the prediction center.

As an Australian and also a Charlize Theron fan, this is a three-actress lineup I will eagerly support! I want Nicole Kidman to keep on the direction of this and Big Little Lies and avoid Destroyer-type messes. I also want Margot Robbie to keep expanding her range and taking challenging roles. She was great in I, Tonya and she is so much more than her Wolf of Wall Street role.

    For Your Consideration:

Huh? Sure, the movie was a flop (thanks, Annapurna), but she gave one of her career-best performances in it. I love how she gives a variety of very distinctive performances of late; I found the character of Erin Bell to be just as fascinating as Celeste Wright, even if they are diametrically opposed.

ayeee hello from another Aussie in Melbourne 🙂

Yeah I love the hype for Margot, although Nicole Kidman is likely to miss out, her buzz is not quite as strong as Charlize and Margot.
