Could The Farewell get into Beat Picture without Awkwafina getting into Best Actress?

No. A solo best actress nomination is possible. But I think, A best actress nomination is needed in order for the farewell to get a best picture nomination.

Yes. Because Fina is the weakest link performance wise of the ensemble.

ScarJo isn’t missing Best Actress to Zellweger, Erivo and Lupita if Marriage Story is nominated for BP and Judy, Harriet and Us aren’t

Actually, Johansson is in my sixth place and I think this whole ScarJo thing is overhyped right now. I want to see a clip of her in the movie or at least a BTS photo for me to assess her chances. If she’s brightly good then, I might drop Nyong’o.

A still already has been released. Just think it makes no sense not having ScarJo in actress when you have the movie in BP, Director, Actor and supporting actress lol. Seems like you just don’t like her.

There’s a new trailer out for Queen & Slim, as well as a poster:

I just might have to put Kaluuya in my predictions.

This is like an another side of BlacKkKlansman.

I like her when I like her, and yes, I like her. But sad for her, I like these 5 ladies more than her as of now. Let’s see how things would go as awards season gets closer.

Queen & Slim is giving me Widows vibes. A heist/getaway thriller that ends up getting great reviews but fails at the box office and doesn’t get anywhere during the awards season.

I’d bet a lot of money ScarJo gets in before Lupita.

I haven’t seen The Farewell, but predicting it for picture or actress seems like a stretch.

Honestly, none of these women look like frontrunners to me lol. Awkwafina will be lucky to get nominated and will suffice to that, ScarJo will probably pull a Ruth Negga/Michelle Williams or Laura Linney and simply be either her film’s only nom or be nominated along with screenplay for it. Natalie has the support to land a nom if her film is well received, but I don’t think the industry is willing to give her another Oscar anytime soon. They denied her for Jackie. Well, the Globes did, and then sheep voting. Unless they feel bad this time around, not that they owed her whatsoever. But ofc it all comes down to the performance.
I’m not stanning but so far, based on trailers, Renée is easily the frontrunner.
And ofc Streep is a lock for a nom.
