So more basic choices are likely then? Oh well, I guess with more international voters this was an inevitable tradeoff.

    That definitely benefits Parasite.

I don’t think The Farewell will be in International Film though? I believe the Golden Globes only put it in their version because it’s in a foreign language, but I don’t think China can choose The Farewell as their one submission.

    Loved (9 – 10)

    Toy Story 4
    The Farewell
    Rocketman

    Enjoyed/Liked (6 – 8)

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
    Judy
    Avengers: Endgame
How to Train Your Dragon 3: The Hidden World

    Disliked (1 – 5)

    Us

Those are the only Oscar contenders that I have seen so far this year. JoJo Rabbit, The Lighthouse, and Parasite I all desperately want to see but haven’t come to a theater near me.

Will be watching Marriage Story, The Irishman, The Two Popes, and Klaus on Netflix when they pop up. Decided not to waste my time on The Laundromat, doesn’t seem to be a film worth watching.

Highly looking forward to 1917, Honey Boy, Queen & Slim, The Rise of Skywalker, and Frozen 2.

Interested in Little Women and Doctor Sleep.

Don’t really care that much about Joker, Ford v Ferrari, The Aeronauts, or Bombshell. Will probably wait to see them next year when they are on streaming unless I get dragged by a friend to go see them.

This is correct. The Farewell is an American production and it isn’t going to compete in Best International Film.

Neither endgame nor hobbes & shaw is going to be nominated. They are not oscar type. MARRIAGE STORY IS GOING TO WIN….

I never said Endgame or Hobbes and Shaw would be Oscar nominees. Merely that I saw and enjoyed them.

Finally we know when we get word on 1917

Universal has decided to use this same strategy for Sam Mendes’ much-awaited 1917 in New York on November 23 and L.A. on the 24th, with multiple screenings and Q&As on those days in both cities.

Why did you hate Lucy in the Sky? I feel like an island. Portman should be in the final five.

So before the December 3, 2019 NBR date. Need to change my predictions for that maybe.

Ah yes, the final unknown variable of my Top 10 major contenders. Very interested to see if it lives up to the hype.
