Tom Hanks isn’t winning the Oscar. Nobody says that he needs a third win like Meryl Streep/Daniel Day Lewis because he’s not that type of actor. He’s playing another version of himself in the persona of Mr. Rogers and he’s not even lead. I don’t think that after all these years of snubbing Hanks, that they’re going to all of a sudden give him a third Oscar just for this.

I genuinely believe he deserved to win three out of the four times he was nominated (minus Platoon). And if he’s the best for a fourth time for The Lighthouse it will break my heart to see him lose again.

He’s amazing in Wild at Heart. Creepier than Schreck/Nosferatu.

Did it break your heart to see Close lose on her 7th try with televised precursor wins?

Pacino looks freaking awesome in the new trailer. I would completely support a second win for this icon.

If he’s as good in the movie as he is in the trailer, I’m all for Pacino scoring another Oscar. I love Pitt in OUATIH, but he’s a lead, and leads shouldn’t win supporting.

And an actor like Al Pacino with the movies and performances he’s done.

He deserves atleast 2 acting wins.

His loss for Godfather Part II is one of the most unforgivable snubs in Oscar history.

No it breaks my heart that she lost for the role of a lifetime in Dangerous Liaisons to a less deserving winner who would win again (more deservingly) three years later. Though I’ll admit Colman’s victory was bittersweet, despite me being overjoyed for her.

I’ve been meaning to watch that for a while but haven’t got round to it. I will soon!

Beloved derbyites, Monochrome Dafoe deserves the Oscar. His role in The Lighthouse if by far one of the strongest performances of the year. But Shirtless Pitt is winning. I have to laugh, cry and vomit.

This is the only time you’ve ever made me laugh.

Huh, never thought I’d have an alliance with you. But so it goes.

Let’s be real. Pacino could win a second dildo. Poor Pitt.

THE IRISHMAN: al pacino … oscar ?????

    https://twitter.com/812filmreviews/status/1177620660429950978

To expand: THE IRISHMAN is well paced. Pacino gives one of his performance in years. Pesci surprisingly plays against type. Incredibly funny. I’ll save the rest of my thoughts for the review. #NYFF57

THE IRISHMAN: Think GOODFELLAS, but directed by the man who gave us SILENCE. A culmination, meditation and tribute to every Scorsese/De Niro/Pesci collaboration. And yet, Al Pacino towers over all of them with a funny, sad and haunting performance as Jimmy Hoffa.

THE IRISHMAN: A true American gangster epic, poetic and momentous, with so much on its mind about mortality, morality, and all that which we leave behind. All four – Scorsese, De Niro, Pesci, and *definitely* Pacino – are headed for the Oscars. #NYFF

    https://twitter.com/weallwantsome1/status/1177625448282558466

THE IRISHMAN is a wide-spanning gangster epic with tons of classic Scorsese elements. A combination of Goodfellas + Silence. A look at legacy + the lingering effects of a lifetime of crime on a person and their soul. De Niro + Pesci are great. Pacino is exceptional #nyff #nyff57
