Speaking of which Rebecca Ferguson Deserved awards attention for Supporting in Dune.
She deserves a Best Supporting Actress nomination for that role
January 26, 2022 at 7:50 am #1204750571Booooooo no Spencer boooooooo I say
January 26, 2022 at 7:53 am #1204750575Dune should win the Oscar for Costume. They are outstanding
And cinematography.
January 26, 2022 at 7:56 am #1204750581Tomorrow will be hectic.
27th – American Cinema Editors Nominations (ACE)
27th – Directors Guild of America Nominations (DGA)
27th – Oscar Nomination Voting Begins 9am PT (AMPAS)
27th – Producers Guild of America Nominations (PGA)
27th – Writers Guild of America Nominations (WGA)
January 26, 2022 at 8:00 am #1204750593Don’t know if it’s true, but I read something that said most of the costumes in Spencer were on loan? Possibly why it missed the guild nomination. I have a feeling it’s going to miss at the Oscars at well…

January 26, 2022 at 8:04 am #1204750605No Spencer for costumes is absurd, I want to cry! 😭 Why are they so much against that movie?
By the way, if the Italian guy who did the costumes for Cyrano gets in at the Oscars I’ll have to switch off the audio again at the ceremony because the Italian commentators just say nasty things when Italians lose. Like last year when makeup and hairstyling for Pinocchio lost to Ma Rainey the commentators said that it was just to be politically correct, then they showed a clip of a Tarantino film with music from Ennio Morricone and said “this is cinema”.

It’s not basic.

It’s a big day but February 3rd scares me more because I know BAFTA will serve pure chaos.

Belfast (AFI, NBR, GG)
CODA (AFI, NBR, GG)
Don’t Look Up (AFI, NBR, GG)
Dune (AFI, NBR, GG)
King Richard (AFI, NBR, GG)
Licorice Pizza (AFI, NBR, GG)
The Power of the Dog (AFI, GG)
The Tragedy of Macbeth (AFI, NBR)
Tick, Tick… Boom! (AFI, GG)
West Side Story (AFI, NBR, GG)No Time to Die could show up since Skyfall did. I think Macbeth or TTB would be out then (it wouldn’t affect their chances at the Oscars)
I do not buy No Way Home, Nightmare Alley or House of Gucci.

What about Being the Ricardo’s

I guess it could happen, but I don’t think so. I don’t think that movie is that well liked.
January 26, 2022 at 8:44 am #1204750719As long as House of Gucci does not show up, I will be satisfied.
• FYC: Everything Everywhere All at Once in any and every single category, especially Best Picture, Michelle Yeoh in Actress, Stephanie Hsu in Supporting Actress, The Daniels in Director/Screenplay, Paul Rogers in Editing, and Son Lux in Score.
January 26, 2022 at 9:15 am #1204750805Wait, Jacqueline Durran has nothing to do with Spencer missing CDA because she got nominated in the same category for Cyrano (for Roxanne). So it just missed on its own.
January 26, 2022 at 9:52 am #1204750874Skyfall made over 300M at the domestic boxoffice vs NTTD’s 170M+. So much bigger hit. Also, it managed a SAG nom for Bardem. While BAFTA could throw NTTD an acting bone (they nominated Dench for Skyfall), I don’t think there’s enough support for NTTD overall. NWH is the movie to beat for the blockbuster spot.
