I can’t find this anywhere, so I made it myself

The 2021 New York Film Festival lineup has been announced.

    https://www.filmlinc.org/nyff2021/daily/59th-new-york-film-festival-main-slate-announced/

I’m most excited for The Power of the Dog, Memoria, The Worst Person in the World, Parallel Mothers, and The French Dispatch (assuming it is still playing)

More films to be announced soon

New York Film Festival Selections that were nominated for Best Picture

(Year listed is referring to the festivals)

    2020: 1

    2019: 3

    2018: 2

    2017: 2

    2016: 2

    2015: 2

    2014: 2

    2013: 3

    2012: 2

    2011: 2

So I think we can expect 2 or 3 films from this year’s slate to get into BP

Netflix seems confident with The Power of the Dog. Are Telluride and the London Film Festival the only remaining festivals that haven’t unveiled their full slate?

Telluride doesn’t release until immediately before the festival, it likes to be different that way.

Yeah lol Telluride is funny. But we know for sure TPOTD is going there because of TIFF’s “Canadian premiere” and NYFF’s “New York premiere”. It’s premiering at Venice first and then Telluride.

Power of the Dog seems to be the surest bet for one, followed by Macbeth (I don’t fully trust Venice programmers’ tastes so I’m not worried about negative buzz so much).

I wouldn’t count out Almodóvar, either, though that could be another lone director thing like Vinterberg last year — I don’t think that lone director slot will be any of the Cannes directors this year.
