Sorry, imo “Husavik” is such a basic song, both songwriting and production. It’s like something from “The Greatest Showman.” Did “This is me” get nominated? I don’t remember…

Yes This Is Ms got nominated and won the Globe.

And for a long time, winning the globe was seen as a kiss of death if you wanted to win the Oscar.

In the last 20 years, 11 globe winners didn’t win the Oscar and 7 of those winners weren’t eveb nominated.

Not saying that this will happen to Warren, but with her history with the Academy, I’m always afraid to pick her lol.

I just listened to all 14/15 songs available on YT.
And besides the top 4 contenders, here’s my preference:

    OMG Amazing
    5. Never Break (by John Legend)

    Good
    6. Turntables (by Janelle Monae)
    7. Rain Song (Minari)
    8. Make it Work (Jingle Jangle)
    9. Loyal Brave True (Mulan)

    Ok
    10. Husavik (Eurovision)
    11. Green (Sounf of Metal)
    12. See what you’ve done
    13. Wuhan Flu (Borat2)
    14. Free (by Charlie Puth)

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe Lo Si is the first Non-English song to win Best Song at the Golden Globes.🥺

Yes, if we mean a Full italian song.

Because The Prayer by Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion was half italian and half english. They won the Golden Globe but lost at the Oscars against Mariah Carey & Whitney Houston.. and I am afraid that for Diane Warren and Pausini will happen the same..svg” class=”emoji”

Husavik really sounds like something basic and thank God somebody mentioned The Greatest Showman.

Yet out of the 9 winners winning both GG and Oscars, 4 are from the recent 5 years. GG has got it right 4/5 recently. 4/5!!!
It’s certainly not “kiss of death” like winning a NBR.

You can only say winning GG Song doesn’t guarantee a Oscars win.

I’m just saying. In general, the Globe has been seen as the kiss of death and in 4 of the last 5 years, some of those songs were undeniable.

He’s also been promoting the hell out of the song all year along (DNC, Billboard, BET, BBC, various Late Nights). He wants it and shouldn’t be underestimated.

This lineup is too perfect to be true, especially Never Break. 🙂

I think “Make it Work” and “Husavik” are very possible while one of the strongest 4, “Hear My Voice,” could miss.

I don’t know where else to post this but I’ve counted at least three Bob Dylan songs popping up in soundtracks this season: One Night in Miami, Crip Camp, The Mauritanian. I’m sure there was another one too.

Maybe relates to Dylan selling his catalogue late last year, or. Anyway tribute to this legend whose songs add to movie vibes each and every time.

If Bob Dylan ever won an Oscar he would probably sell it for coffee.

I’d hope so! Next week it will be 20 years since I saw him in concert and it’s clear no one has influenced our culture quite like him. He deserves an honorary Oscar.
