“Pieces of a Woman” and “Promising Young Woman” — can’t wait to see how many times that is going to be mixed up.

The new “Beautiful Boy” and “Boy Erased”.

Would be hilarious if The Father ended up winning Best Picture even though it’s not even considered by many still to be a contender for the nomination.

FYC OSCARS : VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", GLENN CLOSE FOR "HILLBILLY ELEGY", ANTHONY HOPKINS FOR "THE FATHER", CHADWICK BOSEMAN FOR "MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM", PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN (BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY).

Yeah I wouldn’t put Saoirse Ronan third whilst predicting a Winslet snub at the same time.

Exactly, there’s no way Ronan happens as a lone nomination, if Winslet is snubbed, she is easily out too.

    5. Never Rarely Sometimes Always (I think we’re underestimating this one)

If anyone here thinks this film can’t land screenplay, you’re definitely underestimating it. Might be the only nom it gets, but it could land it with ease.

lol this thread is a journey first page Kirby is winning! now Kirby fighting fo the 5th spot. my view: her film needed better reviews than that in what looks like a competitive year with man big names.

To be fair I never said Kirby was going to win. Maybe for BAFTA, but not the Oscar.

Maybe Nomadland is the early frontrunner that gets derailed and not Mank.

Nomadland doesn’t really fit the build of the other early frontrunners though. I think when Mank comes out it will overtake Nomadland and become the frontrunner, making Nomadland the spoiler that wins. The film that hurts the most from Nomadland’s presence is The Trial of the Chicago 7, which is now in the dreaded 3rd place.

Michael Keaton did it on live tv.

At the very least no one can ever do worse than “the wickedly talented Adele Dazeem”.

Why would voters mix up the names of two completely different high profile films with different actresses especially when one of them is not even coming out this year? Looks like someone is just rooting for everything to flop that isn’t the performance they want to win…

Jesus christ, wolfali. I have mixed up the two, hence my comment. It had nothing to do with whom I am rooting for. You’re just too much sometimes, my god.

I mean technically Travolta did worse the next year when he wouldn’t let go of her face. Dyslexia is one thing, creepiness is another.

I know you don’t want Whitford to win.

    The hypocrisy.

    Anyway I’ll leave it there.

What does my comment in the Emmy thread have to do with this?? You’re the one who’s biased as all hell, so much so that you took my completely harmless, objective comment as a dig at your precious Vanessa Kirby. I was just saying that the two titles being similar could lead to confusion — among people talking about the movies during awards season. Period. My god. You already tried to call someone out for being “offensive” yesterday, and now you’re doing it again. Just stop. And thank god fellface understood entirely what I was saying. Moving on.

Sometime’s I wonder how close to his character in The Fanatic Travolta actually is.

If Hillbilly Elegy gets pushed to 2021 then I’m guessing we’ll end up with an Olivia sweep again lol.

    Fingers crossed Glenn finally wins.
