What’s the budget of this? Because she could also sweep the Indie Spirit’s.

    $16.9m. She’s coming.

A lot of praise for the four actors as well. Holy shit, this is coming.

Why does Regina always win and her haters always lose? Every single year? Whew.

    For Your Consideration:

Best International Feature: Instinct (The Netherlands)
Best Actress: Carice van Houten (Instinct)

Seems like an ensemble, I wonder who are they going to campaign lead. Getting 1 lead and 1 supporting nomination seems possible, maybe 2 in supporting depending on how the competition pans out.

Remember when I said King was a lock for the nomination in Directing and people called me delusional? Oh the days.

FYC OSCARS : VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", AMANDA SEYFRIED FOR "MANK", CHADWICK BOSEMAN FOR "MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM", PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN (BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY).

Because like it was said back then women are hardly a lock in direction, we need factual proof to back up the nomination and not just stan talking.

I personally find Regina King overrewarded, the Emmy’s started the trend giving her three awards (and this year she’ll win her fourth with Watchmen) and based purely on hype she won an Oscar for a performance where she did nothing, so i was already expecting great reviews for her movie.

I’ll watch it and develop an opinion before thinking that i don’t want to support her, but to me even if she had done a bad job she would still be in contention just because she’s Regina King. Hopefully i will love her movie (i don’t even know what it is about tbh)

Right now (and this isn’t saying much since it’s September), I’d probably have One Night in Miami in Screenplay and Supporting Actor. Could get in Picture as well depending on how the rest of the year pans out. The reviews are positive but they didn’t really read as passionate raves (to me), which could potentially be an issue as well as the fact that it could feel too stagey. Still, it’s socially relevant and the whole cast is receiving praise so SAG ensemble is likely. Don’t see King factoring into the Director race unless a lot of films move to next year.

Imagine if One Night in Miami just (*shocker*) ends up being a Venice film.

    I’m obviously jk.
