Also Emma Stone coming for a 2nd Oscar for Babylon in 2021 is going to get GoldDerby pressed all over again and I’ll love to see it happen.
The fact that it’s a movie about the Hollywood industry too, meaning if it’s acclaimed The Academy will fall in love with it….. They hate to see it! Come through Emma and Brad.

Don’t forget Michelle Pfeiffer for French Exit, assuming that’s it’s filming.

November 12, 2019 at 4:25 am #1203175750I- I just got caught not reading it completely lol. It’s time for me to retire from this thread since this is like the 50th time I’ve bungled up a date of a contender.
Hahahaha it happens to the best of us

Blanchett won’t be in contention next year. Lucy and Desi hasn’t started filming and there’s been no news of it potentially filming. Also Sorkin is currently filming The Trial of the Chicago 7 so he’ll be busy with that next year. And Blanchett will be filming Nightmare Alley so she’ll be busy with that too.
And yeah, French Exit started filming like 2 weeks ago so hopefully Pfeiffer will be back in contention.

It’s fine. She’ll be busy sweeping the winter awards for Mrs. America.

That top 5 looks like you literally tried putting together the most unlikely lineup and called it a day lol
ReplyCopy URLNovember 15, 2019 at 7:40 am #1203180671I think Willem is winning for The Last Thing He Wanted. He’s had an incredibly hot streak the past few years, and it’ll only build with The French Dispatch releasing next year and hype for Nightmare Alley growing. I think that TLTHW will be a big contender (picture, director, screenplay), and it’ll be Hathaway’s return to critical favor (she’ll make it in for actress too). But Willem is winning for SOMETHING within the next five years, and I think this’ll be it. They love him so much, and I think the only thing that’s been keeping him from winning in the past few years or even this year is that his movies have never really been big Best Picture contenders, but if TLTHW can really break in all around, that dildo is his.

I doubt she could win for BA at this point.

If she finds the right project and role she can very well win. I think it’s just a matter of time tbh. She’s taking on very interesting roles right now.
