Based on her work in BLL, no.

lol. Based on her work in BLL then yes. She was fantastic in it. It’s not her fault that her role was underwritten this season. And even though her role was smaller this season, her performance in episode 2 was fantastic. She should have been nominated for an Oscar for The Descendants.

She was a natural talent in Descendants. I dont blame her for signing onto those Divergent films. It had the potential to do as much for her as it did for JLawrence in Hunger Games. Unfortunately those novels were jejune and unreadable.
But I’m not sure how much my support and wishes for a successful future are clouded by her being the spitting image of my daughter.

Well she received deservingly a Golden Globe nomination and Emmy nomination for that role. Shailene is a good actress, who just need the right role to get nominated for an AA.

I’m incredibly skeptical of The Last Thing He Wanted. I mean the director is great but anyone who has read the book knows that its  more of a vessel for Didion’s writing. Both the story which is not linear and the characters are skeletal. It will be a difficult thing to adapt.

In season 1 she was terrific. Season 2 she had a few really great moments–the aforementioned episode–but overall she was really uninspired and lost sight of the complex, mysterious, seemingly-apathetic-publicly but electric-privately Jane that she crafted for season 1 episode 1.

I like imagining Amy Adams getting two nominations next year, Lead Actress for The Woman in the Window, and Supporting Actress for Hillbilly Elegy, and Glenn Close getting a Supporting Actress nomination for Hillbilly Elegy as well. Only for both of them to lose and tie in the first place for most nominations without wins.

Shailene totally deserved an Oscar nod for The Descendants, and she was wonderful in BLL (season 1 and 2, even though she wasn’t written as well in s2). I know she’s only an extreme long shot for an Emmy nod for season 2, but I hope she pulls through and gets it. It would be very deserved.

I can sense and see Academy not giving The Irishman Oscars this year.

Then regretting it over time and giving Killers of Flower Moon maybe undeserving Oscars under regret and heavy overdue narrative in a relatively and comparatively weaker year of 2020.

    You Might ScreenShot This.

    LOL

It’s not Scorsese’s fault that he didn’t spoon feed you the cosa nostra culture in 1000 words or less is it? Or that we were suppose to hate the mafia but they weren’t that bad?
I just HAD to know. lol.
I think RdN can surprise for the win with a narrow lead over Joaquin.
I think The Irishman will take Best Picture, lose Director to Joon-ho, and take editing, score, A screenplay, visual effects, but lose cinematography sound(×2) and Best Song (lol) and somebody else takes supporting actor.
So since I still think joaquin has the edge, that s five Oscars for Irishman .

As insane as it sounds, I saw this with a group where I was the youngest by at least 15 years, and they wouldn’t go to a movie unless they thought Elvis was making a special appearance. Max seating capacity 200.
Median age=70 . Dressed like it’s a Royal wedding. All enthused during intermission while they sipped and nibbled. 90% not self made. Minds all sharp as tacks=The majority of Oscar voters.
lol. Just thought I’d throw it out there .
