Well… it’s about that time again.

I will reveal my full longlist tomorrow (December 31st, 2022). A longlist is a list of between 15-20 competitors in every category that I am considering for awards potential. If there is anyone that you feel I missed, then let me know! Sometimes it’s a case of me just kinda… forgetting to put them in.

Be sure to keep checking this thread so see my full nominations, which probably won’t come until next month, hopefully before the Oscar nominations are announced.

If you want to see all my choices in years prior, check out this thread: https://www.goldderby.com/forum/movies/tylers-choice-awards-archive/

I am semi-retired on GoldDerby. Still predicting but infrequent in the forums. I am sorry for my past behaviour.

Great job Tyler. There’s a few films on your massive lists that I haven’t seen.
Surprised no production design for Avatar.

It was close. I was impressed by the visuals in Avatar 2, but I also was not really that big a fan of the film as a whole and right now have a feeling like it’s “overrated”. We’ll see if I add it in later.

While the noms on the whole are really good, I’m kinda surprised by the lack of either Editing, Sound or Cinematography nominations or even “also-rans” for TÁR. Maybe you didn’t like the film as a whole (somewhat common I might add)?

Yeah it was pretty good, but there were just so many great films this year that I could not include everything! It was close, though.
