There’s probably not much of a point in making this thread (we all know it’s the Disney award) except to discuss what movies will get nominated. From what I’ve gathered so far…
Turning Red (projected winner)
Lightyear (likely second choice)
The Bad Guys
Wendel & Wild and/or Del Toro’s Pinocchio
Some critically acclaimed foreign movie

Yeah, Shrek, Spirited Away, Wallace & Gromit, Happy Feet, Rango, SpiderVerse. All classic Disney movies. What an astute observation.

If Lightyear & Strange World completely tank, Wendell & Wild can build an overdue narrative for Henry Selick.

Strange world
My father dragon
Pinocchio
Turning red
And as usual the Pixar or Disney movie wins

Yeah you’re right, Disney has only won 15 out of 21 times, my bad.

after all it’s not every year Disney gets 3 nods.
my predictions for the nominees.
Turning Red
Lightyear
My Father’s Dragon
Wendell & Wild
Inu-Ohalso I think Turning Red will win, unless Lightyear also has amazing critic’s reviews.
I think most critics awards will be split between Turning Red, My Father’s Dragon, and Wendell & Wild

They set a precedent this year with Encanto, Luca, and Raya being nominated.
Inu-Oh
Doubt it. The Academy disdains Japanese animation that isn’t Ghibli.

Suzume Locking Up the Doors
Turning Red

Yeah I guess that might be more likely to get a nomination than the other anime I chose.

Oh wait. Suzume no Tojimari isn’t even going to be released in the USA until 2023, so that doesn’t work.

Sony and Crunchyroll will likely do an early limited release in order to make it eligible, similar to the campaign for Makoto Shinkai’s earlier film Your Name (yes, that one failed, but it was more likely due to lack of exposure).

It’s a PIXAR movie, of course it’s getting nominated.
