I’d be shocked disappointed if Bad Guys gets a nom. I love kids’ movies and that’s the most uninspired and unfunny animated film I’ve seen in ages. I know this category isn’t taken very seriously sometimes, but… I hope they have some semblance of self-respect. Please.

I don’t see how Turning Red could lose TBH. Lightyear doesn’t seem like anything special so far…

Lightyear is GREAT! So, so funny. Has one of the funniest Pixar characters ever. I’m not gonna lie, however, it is not the most memorable movie ever, but it surely made me entertained. Great action sequences.

It's about the chaotic editing in Moulin Rouge!

It’s a PIXAR movie, of course it’s getting nominated.

Finding Dory didn’t get nominated. Monsters University didn’t get nominated.

Finding Dory didn’t get nominated. Monsters University didn’t get nominated.

That was before they changed the rules so the whole academy can nominate whatever they want for Best Animated Feature. Before, only the Animation branch could decide on that category.

I wonder how well Pinocchio will do. This year doesn’t have an A-tier Disney or Pixar seemingly, and that means there’s a chance. A stop motion del toro film could be seriously good, and the Academy is willing to reward Del Toro.

Looks like lukewarm reactions to Lightyear on social media. Will it get a nom? dun dun dun

That’s not what I heard. Just the opposite according to what I read online.

Well Lightyear has an 81% with 54 reviews in and a 6.8/10 average, which isn’t too bad.

I’m still not sure Lightyear will get a nom, it’s not like this year is a total loss for animated movies.

Lightyear is getting banned in many countries over a same-sex kiss. Maybe the Oscars will nominate it out of pity.

MAD GOD has a 90% on RT and 80 on Metacritic. Do you think it has a chance of being nominated?

Lightyear is not happening, the reception is not strong to be considered a frontrunner, it will likely miss.

Yeah, Lightyear gets in 4th or 5th by virtue of being a Pixar movie at best. It’s really lame.

    For Your Consideration:
The Banshees of Inisherin in ALL categories, including:
    - Best Picture
    - Best Director
    - Best Actor (Colin Farrell)
    - Best Supporting Actor (Brendan Gleeson)
    - Best Supporting Actor (Barry Keoghan)
    - Best Supporting Actress (Kerry Condon)
    - Best Supporting Actress (Sheila Flitton)
    - Best Original Screenplay

Lightyear is tanking even at the box office right now. It will probably still get in because this is a weak field, but it will be a filler.

Del Toro is always hit or miss so I keep my expectations low for Pinocchio.

Turning Red is locked and win competitive, and if Strange World is even remotely good then it’s winning due of recency bias just like Encanto.

My Father’s Dragon is from Cartoon Saloon so it’s getting in.

It’s a real shame that Sony delayed Across the Spiderverse for no reason because it would win easily in this field.

    The Bad Guys
    The Bob’s Burgers Movie
    DC League of Super-Pets
    The House
    Minions: The Rise of Gru
    My Father’s Dragon
    Pinocchio
    Lightyear
    Wendell & Wild
    Turning Red
    Strange World

If I had to guess, the winner is one of these. The question is which one from Pixar has the edge by Oscar night. Then you have your winner
