    The Northman is scifi/fantasy?
Seems to be plenty of diversity. BAFTA might look it over.
Look there’s Sandra Bullock! Snub to her costar. They remembered Dano and Rylance!
    Just kidding.

Did you happen to see Northman? It had very, very heavy Norse mythology elements,  including fantastical creatures and mystic powers. I can definitely see fantasy as a category. It also whipped.

Generally like these a lot. Would have liked to see Taylor Russell for B&A and Georgina Campbell for Barbarian in horror lead actress.

Sorry to my guy Ethan but I hope Justin Long wins lol he was so great.

And nice to see some recognition for Men. The online/”Film Twitter” vitriol it got was very, very weird and undeserved to me. It was Garland’s weakest directorial effort but why it was so loathed for no reason was beyond me.

Yes I saw Northman. No way was i going to miss that. Their spirituality and mythos doesn’t qualify as scifi to me. It’s not as if they lived on Mount Olympus with Hercules as their champion.
As far as I’m concerned, these nominations have more open minded ethics than many other awards shows.

Oh I definitely don’t think it’s SciFi, I interpreted it as applying to the fantasy portion of the category. Like the seer gal, the portion with the Valkeryie and ascending to Valhalla and all that. God that movie was so cool.

Totally agree that these awards tend to fall on the more open-minded, inclusive side than the bigger more “serious” awards. Enjoy them every year.
