yeah kinda, but that song make sense in the movie, Vegas its just a song but let’s see
‘Vegas’ is not even played in the movie.
A song “must be a clearly audible, intelligible, substantive rendition” in the movie — of which Variety notes that less than 45 seconds of “Vegas” appears in the film. The portion used is the “Hound Dog” interpolation.
November 21, 2022 at 3:29 pm #1205163034But but.. it charted!!11 It’s a smash1!1!
It’s just wishful thinking. This race is between LMU and HMH. The Avatar song is a possibility, but Vegas is basically OUT at this point.

It’s not even this huge hit they’re making out of it, not even a top10 on the Billboard Hot100 and on Youtube it has 50 million streams less than the supposed flop ‘Hold My Hand’.
They’re not getting these are not Grammys-VMAs.
November 21, 2022 at 4:00 pm #1205163055Nah, y’all want to bring charts into this discussion and she’s just the perfect example with her last single of how the Billboard Hot100 is pointless and very manipulable in certain cases, for the rest we’re talking about Oscars in here and there’s no much correlation between the two.
Beyoncé didn’t have to be brought up at all. There was nothing manipulative. It slowly built up and peaked on the album week, unlike others who pay for first week plays and then tank (aka Gaga)
HMH flopped but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have a chance of winning.
November 21, 2022 at 4:27 pm #1205163078pls as if every single MPG doesn’t have a first week radio deal same (basic chart 101) w Bey and besides a single doesn’t drastically drop in radio formats the moment an album drops, talk about “manipulating the radio numbers”

I brought whatever the fuck I want as example in my posts.
Then why this ‘huge #1 smash’ is currently having almost the same recurrent streams of a “tank” once the radios dropped it?
That song was just carried by radio payola for its entire run, its streams are abysmal compared to all the other #1 songs released this year.

November 21, 2022 at 6:56 pm #1205163196I don’t understand why Beyonce is being talked about at all in here? This isn’t the Grammys thread. I don’t care if you are a fan of hers or hate her. She has no eligible songs that could get Oscar nominations and she has never come close to winning an Oscar. There’s no reason to talk about her in good or bad terms in an Oscar thread outside of the first part of this year. Take the Stan Wars to the Grammy threads.
November 21, 2022 at 7:55 pm #1205163261It sure feels like a Grammy thread lmao.

May I suggest a song from a different anime film to promote for BOS 2022?:
Help me manifest this Best Original Song category at the 95th Oscars!:

The reason why Beyoncé has been brought in here is very simple if you read the discussion.
People are keep using the pointless chart argument against ‘Hold my Hand’ in here continuosly despite it has been stated multiple times charts are a not factor for the race, acting as if it’s a Diane Warren kind of song for irrelevant movies struggling to reach 1 million streams after 6 months that nobody has heard.
I only made an example of how the labelled flop ‘Hold My Hand’, a song indifferent to people according to certain users in here is actually doing and surpassing a recent #1 song (that happen to be a Beyoncé one) in terms of streaming (counting both Youtube+Spotify), that’s all, it was a harmeless example, it’s not my fault if sensitive Beyoncé stans got mad for posting facts.
Until people will continue to bring the chart argument in here for trashing ‘HMH’, I have the right of pointing out the song is not the tank they make out of it (notice that I forgot to mention that HMH is also between the best selling singles of the year).

Yeah… HMH didn’t have a radio deal, it didn’t have any kind of deal. They kind of just put it out and let it fend for itself. HMH has slowly but surely increased since its release and now sits at 500,000,000 overall streams. You guys can seethe over it all you want because of some irrelevant, arbitrary chart placement, but the public has spoken.

It didn’t have spotify playlist placement as well, they added it on Today Top Hit after 2 months when it was too late for a few weeks and that’s all.

Gaga’s wrong when she pushes a song like ‘Shallow’ and she’s wrong when she doesn’t push a song like ‘HMH’. People have to make up their minds.

‘Shallow’ wasn’t even pushed much as well, the song just happen to reasonate and being very liked by the GP thanks to the performance of the movie that was one of the biggest moment-scene of the movie, but it never had big pushes on playlist and radios, and she performed it only twice.
