There are no reasons to doubt ‘Naatu Naatu’, properly because it’s the only category where they can reward the movie.
This could also mean that there is no passion for this movie. It wasn’t submitted to Best International Feature, but they could nominate them in other categories. They didn’t. Naatu Naatu is still a frontrunner but it’s not a 100% obvious winner.
The EEAAO nomination shows how being attached to a strong BP contender could really help your song. We’ll see how the nominations of Top Gun will help HMH, but right now, Naatu Naatu is the only way for RRR to be awarded.

Call me crazy, but Top Gun being snubbed in the acting categories makes a case for HMH. Tbey are going to want to award the biggest movie of the 2022 year and BOS with Gaga attached would be the easiest route to go. With Black Panther and EEAAO, there are strong narratives for Angela and Michelle respectively that will fill the “winner” spot.

Top Gun is hopefully winning Sound and Editing it doesn’t need BOS.
A cute little stat I realized. The last time the Super Bowl headliner also got an Oscar nomination for BOS in the same year was Phil Collins in 2000. Fun Fact, Phil Collins also won. 🤭 Holding onto hopes for Rihanna still.
The Awards luncheon is one day after her performance. All the chatter will still be about her since the buzz will be fresh. That can sway a lot of early votes.
