Austin Butler is the new-kid. I’m not even sure he’ll be nominated.

Brendan Fraser will have loads of public support, but I doubt the industry will want to annoint him when the much more commercially reliable Colin Farrell is right there

    • He already won Venice over Brendan Fraser
    • He has the more prolific career
    • He’s being campaigned by Searchlight, not A24
    • He’s in an almost guaranteed Best Picture nominee
    • He’s the frontrunner for a second Comedy Globe
    • He could easily win SAG and BAFTA

Comedic performances rarely win Lead Oscars, but don’t be surprised if Colin Farrell starts sweeping

Manifesting hard right now. VOLPI CUP winner Colin will win the Oscars.

    Emmy winner Matthew Macfadyen!!

Oscar winner Colin Farrell would truly be the single best possible outcome of this whole awards season. His route is definitely through BAFTA.

    For Your Consideration:
The Banshees of Inisherin in ALL categories, including:
    - Best Picture
    - Best Director
    - Best Actor (Colin Farrell)
    - Best Supporting Actor (Brendan Gleeson)
    - Best Supporting Actor (Barry Keoghan)
    - Best Supporting Actress (Kerry Condon)
    - Best Supporting Actress (Sheila Flitton)
    - Best Original Screenplay

Of all the stats the Oscar likes to break lately, refusing to reward (a) a young actor and (b) a comedic performance should be at the top of their list. We need a Butler or Farrell dominance.

I just love movies. And awards.

I think he or Gleeson is winning.

possibly a Mystic River-like double win, honestly

Searchlight is great in campaign, so I don’t doubt it.

Rumors are circling on twitter about apple dropping one of their big films in December to shake up the race. Maybe Napoleon or KOTFM. Either one would have big implications in best actor

Considering BOTH The Last Duel and House of Gucci flopped last season, I would not consider Napoleon to be a film that shakes up the race.

If they can get KOTFM finished by then, might as well give it a shot. But Emancipation and Napoleon aren’t exactly going to paradigm shift this category or the others.

True, but if best actress last year was as barren as best actor this year then Lady Gaga would have been nominated right? Maybe even Comer. So I think Joaquin could absolutely be a factor.

    Variety debunked it already.

Despite a report that Apple was eyeing a possible 2022 release for Ridley Scott’s biopic “Napoleon,” with Joaquin Phoenix and Vanessa Kirby, two sources within the streamer have confirmed it will not drop during this current awards season.

This. Also, Ridley Scott is a very hit or miss director. Not holding my breath for Napoleon.

Just lost Brendan Gleeson at 100/1 odds in Actor. Had no idea that the predictions centre changed so couldn’t pounce on good odds.

The man is a star, he should be in Actor. How great would it have been to have double Actor nominations for the same film?

If they do release KOTFM this year, than DiCaprio is pretty much taking second Oscar home, isn’t he
