    Part of me thinks the only reason why The Whale is getting negative reviews is because of the fat suit…

    I didn’t like The Whale, I thought it was a problematic film with a bad script and direction. I saw people comparing this movie to The Father but I don’t think that comparison is fair, the only comparison would be the late release date. The Father was not a divisive film and it was not a controversial film like The Whale. I can’t see Fraser winning for this role.

    That’s not the only reason.

    We also need to keep in mind half these accounts were created after Elvis came out and are Austin Butler Stan’s. Don’t leg then effect your predictions ☠️

    Academy Award Winner Brendan Fraser

    I didn’t say. The Elvis movie is problematic but. Apparently sjws think Elvis himself. Was. A problematic figure

    Well he undeniably was problematic being a groomer and ephebophile, dating his wife at 14 when he was 24 years old. That being said, that won’t be what causes Austin to lose obviously and nobody thinks that’s the reason he would lose so I don’t know where you got that from.

    Nah, the script is mediocre to bad. Quite a few are saying Sadie’s character is poorly written, that the script even lets Fraser down at times, and that there are moments that are overly sappy.

    Honestly, this may go Farrell’s way. Most everyone likes “Banshees” in the industry… While people love Fraser and his performance, the movie is divisive which might hurt him… Butler is getting in for sure, but he does have the hurdles of being young, hot and lesser known. I think he still has a chance and these are the only three that seem like they can win at this point….

    My current feeling:
    Critics Choice: Fraser
    GG Drama: Fraser
    GG Musical/Comedy: Farrell
    SAG: Butler or Farrell
    BAFTA: Farrell
    Oscar: Farrell

    But hey, watch me change my mind again like tomorrow. lol

    It’s Butler vs Fraser I think for the win. Ferralll could play spoiler but the other two have a bigger chance of success of winning I think

    Why is Colin a “spoiler”? He probably will have Globes and he has the easiest path to BAFTA among the nominees.

    Y’all gotta start calling this as it is, a 3-way race.

    FYC:
    The HBO darlings everywhere (The Last of Us, Succession, The White Lotus, Perry Mason, Somebody Somewhere, White House Plumbers, Love & Death);
    The Apple gang (Bad Sisters, Slow Horses, Shrinking, Ted Lasso, Black Bird);
    Poker Face, The Great, The Bear, Evil (especially Katja Herbers) and The Good Fight.

    Please! These gays, they're trying to murder me!

    Butler could benefit a lot from Masters Of The Air if it releases soon with big names involved in the production and being on Apple will help him with the ” unknown” argument .

    I hope Colin takes it either way .

    GG Drama: Fraser (The HFPA will try to avoid any kind of bad press, however if Globes do what they usually do, Butler could take it)
    GG Comedy: Farrell
    CC: Fraser (They go for whoever is the frontrunner at the moment)
    BAFTA: Farrell (Big chance neither Butler/Fraser are nominated)
    SAG: Fraser
    Oscar: Farrell (Veteran with a terrific year and a marvelous filmography)

    "EGOT" and "Triple Crown of Acting" winner: VIOLA DAVIS!!!!

    eh, i actually think giving fraser the award would bring more attention to the issue than if they gave it to someone else.

    “Brendan did not accept his award due to assault by the HFPA”

    GG will most likely place Butler in the Musical/Comedy category with Farrell won’t they? In that case we will know from the winner of that category who is really Fraser’s biggest competition. But I agree that Fraser may not win because of the controversy. I can see the GG nominating Tom Cruise in drama just because they drool over big stars and in that case, he could win. But I don’t think he would attend either,  a couple years ago he returned all the statues he won as a way to say FU to the HFPA.

    I doubt it. They put BR in Drama.
