    If Fraser was gonna win one, it should have been NBR. He’ll be nominated and I’m very happy for him, but this is firmly between Butler and Farrell and Farrell is undeniably far out front.

    Also NBR shutting down the whale lol

    Aftersun making NBR’s Top 10 films over Elvis and The Whale is huge and a sign that A24 is investing big.

    Okay, it’s that time a year where everyone starts to switch their picks every time an awards body comes out.   I’m sticking with Fraser until the Baftas are over. But Colin is my second pick and unlike Fraser, I can’t believe he hasn’t been nominated yet. If there’s a time someone needs a narrative it’s him. Plus, what a year its been. If he wins, I’d actually be more excited than Fraser winning. It’s just after seeing The Whale, think Fraser has the better performance.

    Colin Farrell or Bill Nighy is taking the BAFTA. I can’t imagine why you are holding onto Fraser until then lol. Your first sign to switch should be when Fraser loses the Globe.

    Not really, he could win the SAG. Considering his comments about the Globe, wouldn’t be shocked if he loses there or even gets nominated.

    Nighy couldn’t even win BIFA lol.

    Anyway, whoever takes BAFTA takes the Oscar. I’m also starting to think SAG might also bow to king Farrell in the end even if it’s not the type of performance that usually wins there.

    I’m starting to agree. Signs are pointing to two things: Fraser maybe wins something like SAG and CC, maybe splits with Colin or Colin sweeps. Don’t see Fraser sweeping. Eitherway, Bafta will be the final say. Whoever wins it, wins the Oscar. I’m smelling 2020 vibes (hopkins/boseman).

    Yes, I think he won’t even be nominated, the Globes won’t nominated a guy who has his reasons for shutting down these awards, it would be awkward and embarrassing.

    I think it’s time for everyone to put Cruise in their predictions. He’s obviously happening.

    I’ll wait for SAG to see if Cruise really is a thing, I’m 90% sure he’s gonna get nominated there. If he does he’s in.
    What a weird nomination would it be tho, a sequel from a movie that was panned in the 80s getting an acting Oscar nom. Not something you would see every day.

    FYC:
    The HBO darlings everywhere (The Last of Us, Succession, The White Lotus, Perry Mason, White House Plumbers, Love & Death);
    The Apple gang (Bad Sisters, Slow Horses, Shrinking, Ted Lasso, Black Bird);
    Poker Face, The Great, The Bear, Evil (especially Katja Herbers) and The Good Fight.

    Please! These gays, they're trying to murder me!
