November 29, 2022 at 7:37 pm #1205171149Runner Up: Brendan Fraser
November 29, 2022 at 7:51 pm #1205171168Someone said that this race can end up similarly to Actress 2019, wherein Farrell Olivia Colmans through the season! I am putting my bet on it
A young, new actor that has all the initial hype and love like Gaga – Butler
Comedy Actor frontrunner with Best Picture frontrunner – Farrell
Drama actor that everyone is rallying behind – Fraser
November 30, 2022 at 10:40 am #12051716521.Colin Farrell
2.Austin Butler
3.Jeremy Pope
4.Paul Mescal
5.Brendan Fraser/ Bill NighyNovember 30, 2022 at 7:58 pm #1205173415Mescal is a dark horse. He’s amazing in Aftersun and I think he deserves to be in the conversation but I also think he could pick up momentum. He will be a contender for the trifecta prizes, and if the UK block throw their support against him, it could be enough. I hope so.
November 30, 2022 at 9:57 pm #1205173480And just like that..Will Smith gets critical Acclaim for Emancipation
Will Smith’s performance in #Emancipation is not only soulful but commanding, writes @ByClaytonDavis. Though Smith was banned from attending the Oscars for 10 years, he could still be nominated.https://t.co/qvw95s4P4v

I don’t know why there was this narrative that he *had* to be nominated or could win. The whole narrative around King Richard was that he hadn’t had a strong performance in a good film in a very long time. It was a career award and you don’t win those twice, so there was already no urgency to put him in the lineup outside of the slap.

It’s not about urgency (he gave a great performance in king richard and in emancipation) and once again, many people voted for him also because they liked his performance.
