The only way I see butler losing is people agree with me with his unlikeable persona + young and limited filmography.

That’s why Jarmusch played with Butler’s stock image, of the effortless California hipster in contrast to the “authenticity” of oddball weirdos in Driver/Sevigny/Murray, to be eaten by zombies.

Darling, what the hell is this?

Darling, I hope my SadBoi Mescal wins BAFTA and makes this race very unpredictable. This category always seems predictable in the past years, no wonder the actor threads rarely make it into/past part 10 lol. It’s boring.

his persona is fake but not unlikeable

Mescal taking BAFTA would be amazing. Not only do I think he deserves it but it makes the 3-way Oscar race between Butler, Farrell and Fraser even tighter!

Huns if Fraser wins it’ll be the worst actor win of the century. He was bad in that movie.

I love you but your takes have been trash this year. Fraser will (in all probability) win and you will just have to deal with it.

Thank you for your honesty hun. Love you too. However, Fraser is really bad in that film. Razzie worthy just like white Michelle.

His perf and film reminds me of King’s Speech (stutterers) and how it spoke for others in his situation. His shame, the isolation, the grief, his flaws.
I’ve been rooting for him all season and I’m not convinced he’s the front runner. Yet.
I would be so happy for him if he wins. Happier for him than any of his competitors.

Butler is winning easily. Just look at all the comments on every awards thread or page with a Butler interview. I loved (insert historical person), he plays (insert historical person), nobody else could ever match his portrayal of (insert historical person), he needs to win for (insert historical person). This always happens with biopics unless it’s a completely unlikeable person like Dick Chaney, or they lose to another biopic lol

He also has the support of old people that lived and saw Elvis, women that think he’s hot, and gays who think he’s hot. That’s like 99% of Hollywood lmao

I’m sorry but you all need to look at the past winners of the Academy Award for Best Actor, because Butler being young and attractive is actually the main reason why I think that he is losing.
