Well you already admitted you prefer someone not white to win so that makes sense you say that. Obviously Cate can’t help she is white my dear so you just ruled her out because of her race. Hey, do you.

Again..I choose merit of the performance. LOL

At this point it’s perfectly fine to prefer someone not white. In almost 100 years a white women has only lost this award once. At this point even if it’s deserved if cate wins. They should rename the category best white women in a leading role cause what the fuck?

there’s no way you’re unironically predicting ana de armas to get in atp

I am, but I’m probably gonna switch her for Ackie, honestly.

Blonde makes sense as a package of Actress + Makeup & Hairstyling (which it deserves) but I could easily switch that to IWDWS.

Not betting on her just yet, but I will say that Danielle’s film and role are much more Oscar friendly than the two “frontrunners.”

Darling, is there any FYC ads for Topless De Armas for Blonde?

I know it’s a hated movie, but at least they could try. I remember a horrible movie like The Fanatic being campaigned for an Oscar lol… (it wasn’t a netflix movie, but still…)

All right, hold your horses, people… These are great news for Deadwyler who needed this to keep the momentum and stay in conversation. Especially after Spirits snub. But, given how Gothan awards translate to Oscar, or actually doesn’t, calling this race over is overly simplistic.

Also, it is sort of funny making this “Cate’s loss”. I am pretty sure Yeoh was nominated also. So, if Cate lost this, so did Yeoh. But the need of many here to point out that Blanchett lost, puts her in conversation above Yeoh. Which is how Blanchett remains frontrunner – everyone believes she is the one to beat. As long as people see this race as “two horse race” and continuously seeing the second horse as Blanchett and not any of the other ladies, Blanchett remains in conversation.

The race is still wide open. We have two unseen performances that can, and probably will affect the race, we still have no idea how Davis will be received, as well as Colman. And let’s not forget Williams who gave amazing speech last night and who shouldn’t be overlooked. This race has never been “Blanchett vs XXX”.

But, at the end of the day, what matters the most is that Deadwyler got some attention she rightfully deserves and that she remains part of conversation. I spoke before Gothams that Deadwyler needs this win far more than Yeoh or Blanchett and I am happy to see it doing its magic. Now, let’s not overdo it.

Darling, Lesbian Conductor’s performance could win in almost every other year, it’s that great. But still, my heart wants Mother Yeoh to win. Not only will be great historically, the strength of her performance alone will be held up over time. One of the most unique and inspired picks in this category.

nahh you see how Gotham translate my prediction about Deadwyler , not Blanchett ….for Yeoh she’ll safe ….EEOAO is BP contender …, even from Till we’ll get Chinonye Chukwu as best Director contender also for Oscar …

While I am not sure whether Deadwyler’s performance would age that well, I have no doubts that Yeoh would go down in history as one of the most inspiring choices to win.

This is a 3 way race between Deadwyler, Yeoh and Blanchett for the win…
Williams will be the Amy Adams of the season with another nom from another good performance but lose (unless she miraculously ends up in supporting come Oscar morning)… The exciting question is the 5th slot which I still believe belongs to Davis… That is unless Naomi Ackie blows it out of the water…. And sorry, Robbie is not getting in. She’s fine in “Babylon”, but it’s a hot mess of a film (saw it last wee), and her performance wont resonate compared to the above 5 if you ask me…

Now, personally I think Deadwyler should win but I’d be thrilled with a Yeoh win too. I feel like in the end, it will come down to those two brilliant performances with Blanchett waiting a little longer for her 3rd statue…

Idk I prefer Blanchett in a batshit crazy characters ( Blue Jasmine, Elizabeth and Notes on a scandal ) than a subdued and cold ones. Her TAR character would’ve been perfect for someone like Isabelle Huppert or Michelle Pfeiffer.
