Imagine to award Paltrow (only bcs she serviced weinstein d) over Cate… she should’ve get ha gold for Elizabeth.
I don’t even like paltrow’s win, but this is such an insanely sexist and gross comment. Y’all need to stop slut shaming women and automatically resorting to calling them whores without any evidence because they won Oscars over your faves. In fact, he literally sexually harassed her and you’re holding that against her? Absolutely gross and misogynistic.
November 29, 2022 at 10:23 am #1205170545Huppert could’ve easily done Lydia Tár. Cmon now. She’s literally one of our finest actresses.
100%. Isabelle Huppert is more than enough of an actress to play a character within a character. She has already shown her expertise in portraying façades, such as in The Piano Teacher (a film that obviously was a big influence for Field in the creation of Tár) and La Cérémonie.
However, I agree with Mladen that the constant mention of Huppert as a point of comparison is quite unnecessary, as it adds nothing to the discussion and since in the end the only person we will see as Lydia Tár is Blanchett.November 29, 2022 at 10:26 am #1205170549Imagine that amount of delulu
At least miss Stewart got a green light from Oscars, meanwhile miss Stefani and her busted acting if we even can call it an “acting” was rejected and left behind like a piece of $hit in a middle of the ocean
So honey, take your meds and get over it. This year race has nothing to do with Stewart and especially wannabe actress Germanotta.
That’s it SEETHE! LOL You still mad over that loss boo boo?
Steph has an Oscar on her shelf while Kristen has how many? LOL
Nothing you type changes that beloved. NOTHING! LOL
So throw that tantrum! We love to see it!

November 29, 2022 at 10:28 am #1205170556Go and watch this year’s Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris, then come back and say this again
she wasn’t good.
I imagine she played it like the director intended her to. Even the best actors are sometimes constricted by mediocre films like, well, that one.

Can you stop? Not wanting Blanchett to win is one thing but having insulting and silly opinions is another thing.
Being a hater must be tiring.
2023:
"TAR", "Banshees","Batman"November 29, 2022 at 10:40 am #1205170577Oh, Yeoh and Blanchett getting accolades from the same festivals. It’s the battle of mothers!
November 29, 2022 at 10:45 am #1205170586This thread (as always) is a mess
But anyways, Gotham is decided by a committee of 5 people. Danielle winning doesn’t dethrone the early frontrunners and neither lower their chances, but it definitely helps Deadwyler and her campaign. As someone said, the biggest hurdle for her will be visibility. There aren’t enough people who have seen the film. Because truthfully, hers is the typical Oscar performance the acting branch loves to award. If they do, it can be her’s to win!
November 29, 2022 at 10:56 am #1205170592What if Rebel Wilson played Tar
November 29, 2022 at 11:05 am #1205170601Blanchett, Yeoh, and Deadwyler are bringing the heat this year. Those are the 3 locks in my opinion.

Take your meds like 4 real 😏 Don’t act like LG has an acting Oscar, it’s just for a song, not a big deal since even Sam Smith has it 🤣

You’re overreacted, no one slut shaming her but it was well known fact how she achieved her trophy. She could’ve fight the monster back then but she did chose her career growth instead of her dignity 😏

Nah Anna Kendrick is better candidate 🤣
November 29, 2022 at 11:39 am #1205170638Can we shout out Michelle Yeoh for being able to navigate a role that requires lengthy dialogue in a mix of Mandarin, Cantonese and English? And sometimes addressing two to three people at a time (Joy in English/Mandarin, Waymond in Mandarin/English and Gung Gung in Cantonese).
I doubt many non-Chinese speakers would be able to notice that skill. You don’t really see what she did with language in movies. For example, in most Wong Kar Wai films, one character will speak Canto while the other will respond in Mandarin.
P.S. when Tang Wei went through her monologues in Mandarin, you felt the weight of her words. She has an insane ability to convey despair and mystery. Decision to Leave was so good.
November 29, 2022 at 11:46 am #1205170651Lady Gaga will never win the Oscar for best actress. She is not Cher.
saying this while having a mia goth avi is crazy
