Thank god darling. They should put this all over the country. What a haunting and daring performance by Topless de Armas.

They also should’ve put cinematography, production design, score and costume though. All of these technical are top notch.

The tough thing about Lawrence is we won’t really know momentum for her is happening until it’s already shown up. She’s not going to be a critics leader so industry would have to push her.

I believe voters will eventually make time to watch her film if they haven’t already. I’d be a little shocked if she didn’t make the Globes lineup and she could very well be a SAG surprise given the Apple factor plus her own star power. Love for Brian Tyree Henry is also rising and I’m expecting him to have a decent critics prize haul in his category.

Topless Ana’s fearless performance and the film’s great craft work shouldn’t be ignored just because of Andrew Dominik’s decisions.

A razzie movie can still feature Oscar caliber work, see Hillbilly Elegy

Agree 110% darling. Blonde is a surefire Razzie contenders (directing, screenplay, and maybe even picture). But I hope Topless and the crafts manages to get some major recognitions they deserves.

It puts a smile on my face every time someone brings up last season and I remember that Penélope Cruz managed to get nominated even without any precursor nominations. Sony Pictures Classics did what they had to do!

Nearly fell out of my chair with excitement when that happened lol

I gagged when Leslie Jordan went from Olivia Colman to Penélope Cruz instead of Lady Gaga. That’s the kind of surprise that makes the Oscars worthwhile. Hopefully we have something like that next year.

Not a fan of Lady Gaga, but she should have gotten in over Kidman in that stale biopic. She won one of the trifecta, made all the precursors. Her snub was just weird.

If you are referring to my last post where I mentioned Lady Gaga, what I meant was that they were announcing the nominees in alphabetical order and after Colman was expected to come Gaga, so when Penélope Cruz was announced I was very surprised.
I would have preferred Gaga to have been nominated over Jessica Chastain, but I think HOG got too much into the almost-caricature zone and they were afraid of how this nomination would age. I really think Jared Leto’s performance took away a lot of the film’s seriousness and prestige and made many turn down everything else.

LMAO!!! So you wanted someone who possibly not even in the top 10 and who was trashed by critics to replace the eventual winner and the strongest performance in the category??

    #Delusional

Also Jared didn’t take away anything from the film’s “prestige” it was Gaga and her hammy performance aided by that fake Russian accent.

Like seriously, Gaga fans are on a whole different level. I shudder to think what will happen to this forum when that Joker movie releases.

Kind of funny that you call me a Lady Gaga fan when I spent the entire last season fighting her fans, as I’d rather Stewart and Cruz be nominated.
I don’t think the performance is great but I do think it’s better than Chastain in TEOTF. It’s kind of redundant to criticize Lady Gaga for being hammy and not being embraced strongly by critics when you think Chastain had the best performance in the lineup.
The two performances aren’t far from each other, but at least Lady Gaga has a natural leaning towards camp that makes the performance a bit more convincing, plus at least she wasn’t covered in bad prosthetics. If you can’t accept an opinion different from yours, that’s your problem.
And as for Jared Leto, he literally won the Razzie for his performance, so I don’t think I need to defend my point.
