Cate Blanchett is better known and more prestigious than Kristen Stewart, so her name alone already gets several nominations.
December 1, 2022 at 10:02 am #1205173985Imagine the level of self embarasment of some folks, when miss Stewart is still living rent free in their heads 🤣 Now they found a brand new prey in miss Blanchett 😀 Also, I absolutely agree with @audreylee that Kristen was a rookie but Cate is respected royalty class actress and she will be nominated in most awards this season, whatever you want it or not.
December 1, 2022 at 10:51 am #1205174020Blonde was already this year’s Spencer. Cate proved to escape that trap by actually winning the Volpi cup, and having a film that critics loved with a 90+ Metacritic.

Blonde is no wear near as good as Spencer and Spencer is critically acclaimed. Y’all using Spencer as a drag cause the industry didn’t fuck with it is a trash take.Spencer is a very well made film with one the most critically acclaimed performances of modern film history.

And Spencer is a OSCAR nominated movie something Blonde will never be so another reason to not even compare.

December 1, 2022 at 12:42 pm #1205174214FYI~ Olivia Colman, Viola Davis and Danielle Deadwyler are all doing a bunch of SAG and industry screenings/Q&A’s this weekend… I’m thinking Olivia may be a spoiler in the end??
Dec predix:

4. Michelle Williams

6. Olivia ColmanDecember 1, 2022 at 1:49 pm #1205174278I think the 5th slot for a Best Actress Oscar nomination is still incredibly wide open between Davis, Robbie, Ackie, Colman, and Lawrence, and that right now, Lawrence might be the best prediction still available with 100 to 1 odds in ANY category.

Kristen, an already divisive actress, was literally eating pearls and used pliers to self-harm. The film could be very triggering, especially when it’s in regards to an icon like Princess Diana. TÁR is arthouse but it’s not unwatchable or anything like that. It’s rather straightforward, with the downside it can be slow and uninteresting to individuals, not downright triggering. TÁR also has better reception than Spencer in every metric, audience and critics. Spencer especially took a tank in reception after it left Venice, the same can’t be said for TÁR (again box office doesn’t matter for it). I get that y’all are trolls and your one account for this is to drag TÁR but your overuse of comparing it to Spencer is tiresome.
