Deadwyler is not even safe for a nod, she has a terrific role but the film could be easily overlooked.

I have faith that Deadwyler will make the lineup in the end, but I bet what’s going to happen is that she misses SAG because of “visibility” and then pundits and users start dropping her those 20 days in January between SAG and Oscar nominations.

Basically, she could be the Kristen Stewart of the season.

I think Michelle Williams is a good actress but I have never loved her like this forum and film Twitter does. She’s too overly studied as an actress for my taste. I haven’t seen her Fableman’s performance. I’m not judging that performance until I do.

The current “fight” is for the 5th place between Davis, Robbie and Colman.

Watch as Norma Jeane ends up being right and Ana de Armas somehow takes that fifth spot 🤣

Whether you hate the film or not, her performance in Blonde is probably the second-most seen in contention this season behind Michelle Yeoh. Blonde has ~50k votes on IMDb. That’s more than The Woman King, Tar, Till, and The Fabelmans combined so far.

What if Ana de Armas makes SAG?

Darling, thank god for that. It’s a milky way better performance than Goofy Wig, Harley Quinn, Crack Is Whack or some winners we got from 2010’s and early 2020.

I get it why people truly hated this movie and Horny Dominik is a lock for a directing Razzie, but there’s no denying of how brave and haunting Topless De Armas in this film. A nomination will be 110% deserved.

    1. Michelle Williams, The Fablemans 2. Margot Robbie, Babylon 3. Cate Blanchett, TÁR 4. Danielle Deadwyler, Till 5. Naomi Ackie, I Wanna Dance with Somebody

To suggest Margot Robbie who is in one of the most divisive Best Picture nominees of the year has a stronger chance than Yeoh is…something.

wow…can’t believe people dont like Danielle Deadwyler’s performance here, i would say her acting in Till was superb than Cate tbh, you guys should watch court scene, how she managed her anger that was awesome…she brings the issue on the table, thats why i think shes gonna get nomination this year

for me Yeoh & Deadwyler are Locked while Blanchett got some help from festival honor which is her film isn’t good enough with good performance ….im sticking with these there

Still hoping Ana DeArmas got nom also, shes great as Marilyn tbh, with intents and demanding performance, on top of that how she did nude scene was fantastic. i would say shes brave as an actress at this point….

Best Actor : Colin Farrell, Brendan Fraser, Austin Butler, Bill Nighy

Best Actress : Michelle Yeoh, Ana de Armas, Cate Blanchett , Andrea Riseborough, Danielle Deadwyler

yes…. absolutely agree 100%..Ana’s performance is my second choice after Yeoh …i think people hate this film just because Marylin was a huge star …the fans can’t take any sensitive opinion about Marylin so they make huge counter back against this film

    a) Babylon hasn’t been theatrically released so we don’t know how much money it will make b) Babylon also has a ton of built in baitiness.

Babylon is almost a guaranteed box office flop.

I’ve talked multiple times about my doubts on Yeoh getting a nomination so I don’t feel the need to rehash that. As for Robbie all we have is social media reactions on Babylon, which are indeed divisive overall but largely positive on her performance, we don’t know how the industry will react to it yet. Divisive films like Bohemian Rhapsody and Les Misérables have been embraced as top acting contenders by the Academy in recent years. You don’t have to think Margot Robbie could be a top contender, but the idea is by no means inconceivable.

Robbie has garnered positive notices, but they certainly aren’t as high as Blanchett or Yeoh’s. So I don’t k ơ how you have Robbie higher than Yeoh or Blanchett.
