Is there overlap between HFPA and Satellite?
I don’t know, but I would believe not.
But when it comes to the Oscars, in the last ten years only four performances have been nominated by the Academy without being nominated by the Satellite. Jennifer Lawrence (Joy), Meryl Streep (The Post), Saoirse Ronan (Little Women), Andra Day (The United States vs. Billie Holiday). Except for Andra Day, all were latebreakers. So there is some relevance in their pool of nominees.December 8, 2022 at 1:25 am #1205182725This post was found to be inappropriate by the moderators and has been removed.December 8, 2022 at 2:31 am #1205182759Mothers went viral omg

SAG is where she’s most likely. However, Blanchett will have the trifecta + Globe + BAFTA = OSCAR

Why would she not have a chance at winning the Globe? I understand Blanchett is the current frontrunner, but I still think Deadwyler can pull off a Globe win.

Well, that last slot for Best Actress – Drama is really up for grabs, so I wouldn’t be surprised.
What might help Chastain is that while she won the Oscar for Tammy Faye, she lost the GG. So them giving her another nomination so soon might be a way to “make things right”. And they nominate her frequently anyway – A Most Violent Year, Miss Sloane, and Molly’s Game as evidence.
Another thing that might help Chastain is Netflix’s apparent absence this season. In the last 4 years, Netflix has had 24 Oscar nominations in acting categories. They clearly know how to campaign their films. And it’s already kind of strange that this year probably not one actor in a Netflix movie will be nominated for an Oscar, but it seems too strange to think that none of them will appear at least in the precursors. The film is very conventional, the performances are well executed, the actors had a significant press tour for the film… So that’s it, maybe it will happen, maybe it won’t. We’ll have to wait and see.December 8, 2022 at 5:50 am #1205182889I wonder if Chastain could get in at the Globes over Colman/Lawrence
Ive been saying Netflix isnt campaigning for Ana De Armas, there pushing for Chastain and Redmayne. No one watched Blonde.
