Sunday is gonna be fun with LAFCA, Boston and New York Film Critics Online
December 8, 2022 at 1:38 pm #1205183841Arrival was never a top 3 best picture contender though, and was never going to get any attention from the acting branch outside of Adams. Neither of those apply to EEAAO.
Hate to be remembered that Adams missed for her 2 best performances (Arrival, Enchanted) and got in for something like American Hustle
Please! These gays, they're trying to murder me!
December 8, 2022 at 1:56 pm #1205183869Interesting to see Variety’s Owen Gleiberman put I WANNA DANCE WITH SOMEBODY on his top 10 of 2022… 👀 https://t.co/Ml81nM1LtH pic.twitter.com/FOhjbq5pHt

December 8, 2022 at 1:59 pm #1205183875I would like to know what Sony strategy is with this film.
December 8, 2022 at 2:17 pm #1205183965Lol imagine if Michelle and cate both win lafca best lead performance. I want to see that
December 8, 2022 at 2:20 pm #1205183992Ackie is reminding me of Andra Day.

They’re hiding this movie, that’s not a good sign.
December 8, 2022 at 2:22 pm #1205184008Ackie is reminding me of Andra Day.
Andra Day actually won the Globe. Ackie might not even get nominated because of visibility issues.

No actress won for science fiction film, Most of the films are dramas or biopics.

They must have shown the film to HFPA voters.
December 8, 2022 at 2:24 pm #1205184022Amy Adams snub for Arrival has always been biggest dispute for Yeoh’s chances and the NBR win doesn’t help. But unlike Adams, this is a historic 1st nomination for Michelle and a lot of Everything Everywhere’s buzz is for its actors (while Arrival had it for it’s Technicals and direction)!
December 8, 2022 at 2:27 pm #1205184026They must have shown the film to HFPA voters.
No, an HFPA voter complained about the visibility issue. There were some rumors about a screening happening in the last day of voting but many couldn’t attend because they are all over the world lmao.
December 8, 2022 at 2:35 pm #1205184030I AT LEAST want Michelle Yeoh to be an Oscar nominated actress. The win is tough, but I want from now on for her to be introduced as Oscar nominee Michelle Yeoh

I think on paper its the KIND of film that critics would go against. So I can understand them “hiding” it. I think if they really didn’t believe in it, it would have been pushed back.
