I prefer my roses whiteMay 28, 2022 at 8:12 pm #1204966448I’m annoyed how Everything Everywhere has gone from 89 to 84 on imdb. I think it’s partially from people watching illegal copies online instead of in the theater, partially from Marvel fans mad about the negative comparisons Strange 2 has been getting.

From Cannes, these ladies got raves:
Emily Watson – God’s Creature
Vicky Krieps – Corsage
Tang Wei – Decision to Leave
Zar Amir-Ebrahimi – Holy Spider
Michelle Williams – Showing Up???Who is going to get stronger coming these into the Award Season later this year?

I don’t think that Cannes will have an impact on this year’s Best Actress Oscar race. Williams remains a very strong contender in Supporting for The Fabelmans but I don’t see her getting a double nomination.

I’d say Michelle is a strong early contender for the Comedy Globe, but no further. And of course there’s still a lot to be seen. Some of those others could show up with the BAFTA jury…
