Kerry Condon - The Banshees of Inisherin (Best Supporting Actress)January 24, 2023 at 11:24 am #1205264019Till is not that hard to watch, y’all are making it out like this is an unwatchable thing, it’s not.
Deadwyler was truly robbed and we should said it.THIS. Till’s murder wasn’t even displayed on screen. It’s not a hard watch at all. It’s just quite depressing.

It’s still less depressing than Still Alice and The Reader and those literally won

Wouldn’t really call The Reader depressing tbh. But it’s an Oscar bait by the numbers and it dealt with WWII, which seems to be a favourite subject of the Academy.
January 24, 2023 at 11:30 am #1205264041I just want more roles for Deadwyler. I hope she gets them. She is truly an outstanding actress.

Fair.
January 24, 2023 at 11:30 am #1205264049I’m beginning to feel that Yeoh might actually win.
Wow.The Sunne in Splendour.
I prefer my roses whiteJanuary 24, 2023 at 11:31 am #1205264056Frances fisher is an evil white lady. Putting aside that forced campaign for Riseborough, the way she put out a false narrative of Davis and Danielle being locks to prevent voters from putting them at #1 is actually so evil and mean spirited. It’s a shame that Andrea Riseborough is an amazing actress but her nomination will be remembered for its fraudulence.
“Seems to be that Viola, Michelle, Danielle & Cate are locks” 🤣

Exactly. I was grateful that we saw no on screen violence. And I will wager dollars to donuts that more industry people saw ” Till ” than ” To Leslie “. The acting branch of the Academy nominated Andrea Riseborough and am glad her work was acknowledged. I would have loved to have seen Danielle Deadwyler among the nominees as well. Her performance had me on the floor in tears but that damned ranked voting nominating process can work for and against an Oscar hopeful.
January 24, 2023 at 11:33 am #1205264064My Andrea Riseborough stanning paid off!!!!!!!!! Feeling very vindicated lol
January 24, 2023 at 11:33 am #1205264066I, like literally everyone else on the planet, have not seen To Leslie so I can’t speak on whether or not Risebrough deserves it but the whole campaign is gross. Making a big deal about how there’s ‘room for everyone’ in best actress while simultaneously telling voters to not put Deadwyler and Davis at #1 because they’re locked? It feels so fake and artificial.
EEAAO Sweep

Congratulations to you.
I voted for Riseborough at #1 for Gold Derby noms. Had no idea she’d land an Oscar nom. I guess it was the same for you as well.
January 24, 2023 at 11:36 am #1205264082I’m listening to BBC Radio 4’s Oscars segment, and the host literally mentioned the ‘suspiciously identical Twitter posts’ of Riseborough’s campaign 💀 it’s gaining traction and awareness. They then immediately discussed Deadwyler’s snub within the context of Riseborough’s celebrity campaign – one of them even saying Andrea took Danielle’s place. It’s good to see mainstream platforms having this angle rather than just accepting the nominations without any real analysis.
FYC: Danielle Deadwyler, Best Actress in a Leading Role
