The Academy is reportedly looking into why Nicole Kidman did not receive a Best Supporting Actress nomination.

The issue will also likely be raised at the board of governors meeting this Tuesday.

Jesus… I leave you kids for half a day and the chaos I return to…

OK, this Andrea thing is getting really nasty. That said, we both know that Frances Fisher referenced 4 actresses deemed “safe”, and now this post. This is getting unbelievably ugly and it really makes me sad because I do believe Andrea is a genuinely great actress and someone who didn’t need all this sh*t attached to her name.

As for Blanchett mentioning Tang Wei and the interpretation it is some sort of nefarious conspiracy (not surprised such interpretation came from film123), I think people are really grasping at straws in their uninhibited desire to bring Blanchett down. Let me just remind people that it was the first red carpet of the season for Blanchett, that in both instances (on the red carpet and the winning speech), she first mentioned nominated women then the slew of other actresses (Andrea Riseborough, Tang Wei, Penelope Cruz) so the tally of POC actresses she referred to in both instances is actually 4 (Yeoh, Deadwyler, Davis + Tang Wei). But, yeah, let’s make her some Wicked Witch of the West for honoring these women.

    Come on, people…

The idea that Blanchett was part of a conspiracy to get Riseborough nominated is ludicrous.

    what’s wrong with Variety LMFAO

‘To Leslie’ Instagram Post Referencing Cate Blanchett Could Factor Into Academy Board Meeting

“To Leslie” quoted Richard Roeper’s blurb from his top 10 films of 2022 article from the Chicago Sun-Times, where he listed the movie at no. 5. The quote reads: “As much as I admired Blanchett’s work in ‘Tár,’ my favorite performance by a woman this year was delivered by the chameleonlike Andrea Riseborough in director Michael Morris’ searing drama about a mom at the final crossroads in her life after she’s lost everything due to her drinking. With an insightful script by Ryan Binaco and fine supporting work by Marc Maron, Andre Royo, Allison Janney and Stephen Root, ‘To Leslie’ ranks with ‘Leaving Las Vegas’ and ‘Crazy Heart’ as modern-day classics about the ravages of alcoholism.”

well Richard Roeper is not Academy Member. that’s fair quote someone or public opinion on your post …

    11. References to Other Nominees
    a. Ads, mailings, websites, social media (including Facebook and Twitter) or
any other forms of public communication by anyone directly associated
with an eligible film attempting to cast a negative or derogatory light on a
competing film or achievement will not be tolerated.
b.In particular, any tactic that singles out “the competition” by name or title is
    expressly forbidden.
    c. In addition to reserving all available remedies, Academy members who are
found to have violated this regulation will be subject to a one-year
suspension of membership for first-time violations, and expulsion for any
    subsequent violations.

read it carefully : 11. References to Other Nominees

well this post made before nomination launched, there’s no reason To Leslie violated the rules here….after the nomination came out Andrea & Cate now as nominees, that’s why they took down their insta post

    11. References to Other Nominees applies when we already have nominee which is started after Nomination announcement
