The worst part of what happened to both Polley and Deadwyler is that both movies have been distributed by United Artists. I just can’t… How much they screw up with both of these movies…
UA also fumbled Licorice Pizza and House of Gucci last year

January 25, 2023 at 10:08 pm #1205267950well polley is a 2x nominee who made a bp nominee…
January 25, 2023 at 10:14 pm #1205267958Both women who deserved better this award season.
Polley and Deadwyler should do a collab and ride the robbed narrative together.
January 25, 2023 at 10:19 pm #1205267961I have a hard time believing Davis will win SAG this year. Last time she was in the running for the Oscar in a race where all five women could have conceivably won. This time, she isn’t Oscar nominated, and even if she was would not have been in the conversation to actually win. I don’t see her being a spoiler in what is clearly a two horse race.

girl it is 100% absolutely her (of course when she was younger, prolly in the late 80’s, early 90’s). remember she was miss maylasia before she started her acting gigs.

Even with all this, there are still gonna be comments about how “woke” the Oscars got when they award a POC come Oscar night. It happens every damn year.

Oh, you know that they will be crying when Bassett will accept her Oscar
January 26, 2023 at 2:10 am #1205268087I was checking out the screen time of this year’s nominees and I thought it was interesting that if Cate Blanchett wins, she will have the second longest performance and the performance with the highest screen time percentage to win Best Actress (2:15:15 / 85.49%).
In terms of percentage she would break the record held by Ginger Rogers who won for Kitty Foyle in 1940 (85.29%) and in terms of overall screen time she would only be second to Vivien Leigh who won for Gone with the Wind in 1939 (2:23:32).
Kind of iconic, ngl. The only other winner in recent memory to come close to this level of dominance in screen time percentage was Natalie Portman in Black Swan (82.67%).January 26, 2023 at 2:34 am #1205268105UA also fumbled Licorice Pizza and House of Gucci last year
This. I think we maybe need to look at UA a bit more critically, TBH

It’s Michelle, the gif is from Tomorrow Never Dies.
January 26, 2023 at 4:19 am #1205268162This is how Danielle Deadwyler gives a speech…. Would have loved to see her give one that was broadcast to millions. #TillMovie https://t.co/0KMShwI148
