okay, who do you THINK would’ve been nominated in her place.
I’d like to think it was Deadwyler but idk… Also why are we assuming Riseborough was fifth? That surge of support means it could have been Williams or De Armas who was actually in that place.

it doesn’t matter if Riseborough was third, fourth, or fifth. The simple existence of her campaign pushed someone out. No matter what place she came in in the nominations phase, the person who missed remains the same.

And…? Should she be penalised for campaigning for an Oscar lol? I wanted Deadwyler nominated too but the blame should not be placed at Riseborough’s feet.
January 29, 2023 at 9:28 am #1205273497and who would’ve been nominated in her place ?
Clayton Davis is convinced it’s Jennifer Lawrence and not Deadwyler or Davis.

I’m not blaming Andrea lmao, I think her performance is very deserving but NOT at the expense of Deadwyler’s. No matter how you spin it, It’s very likely that if the Riseborough campaign had not happened, Deadwyler or even Davis would be nominated. You cant argue that Williams or de Armas “stole” a spot when they already had stake in the race. Riseborough is the one who swooped in at the last minute, and it came at the expense of Deadwyler, its that simple.

I understand why one could come to that conclusion since Causeway got Henry nominated while both Till and TWK were completely blanked out, but Supporting Actor was so dead that I really wouldn’t use it as an example to justify support for Lawrence as well. Davis and Deadwyler were definitely ahead in that race, and I would say Robbie was as well.
Also the stan-goggles certain people are wearing while trying to justify Riseborough’s nod are another level.

I’m not saying that, simply suggesting that they might have received less votes than Riseborough. I reject that whole type of thinking because it’s illogical and goes nowhere.

so how does them receiving less votes than Riseborough in the nominations phase change the concept that Deadwyler/Davis were pushed out as a result of Andrea’s nom/campaign?

So should she have never campaigned out of respect for them??

She had every right to campaign, not arguing against that, it’s the simple statement that her nomination pushed out more deserving (Deadwyler) black women and just as deserving (Davis) black women that has y’all pressed.

For the last time, Andrea as an individual isn’t the problem 💀 she is allowed to campaign.
