Maybe certain people nominated Andrea just so they could vote C8 and be like “see, we didn’t vote for the biggest flop; more people watched tar than leslie!”
February 5, 2023 at 11:09 am #1205285513Michelle will take SAG (and not even that is guaranteed IMO), but Cate is winning the Oscars, that’s where I am right now, it just looks like TÁR is growing like crazy these last few days.
FYC:
The HBO darlings everywhere (The Last of Us, Succession, The White Lotus, Perry Mason, Somebody Somewhere, White House Plumbers, Love & Death);
The Apple gang (Bad Sisters, Slow Horses, Shrinking, Ted Lasso, Black Bird);
Poker Face, The Great, The Bear, Evil (especially Katja Herbers) and The Good Fight.Please! These gays, they're trying to murder me!
February 5, 2023 at 11:10 am #1205285517Kinda think Cate is just gonna sweep the entire awards season… including SAG and BAFTA
Everything Everywhere All At Once for BP
SOS for AOTY
Succession for Best Series
February 5, 2023 at 11:11 am #1205285523Huns, Cate Blanchett will win this in a landslide. It’s the performance with the most gravitas in the lineup.
She doesn’t even need SAG but I think she’ll take it anyway lmao.
February 5, 2023 at 11:17 am #1205285540LONDON FILM CRITICS RESULTS:
Barry Keoghan for Banshees wins for Best Supporting ActorA choice was made… 💀🤡
Regarding the other winners, they were massively predictable. Don’t really know what some of yall were expecting. And I say this as someone who is rooting for Yeoh and found TÁR a bit overrated. Altho I still liked Blanchett’s performance very much.
February 5, 2023 at 11:25 am #1205285564I honestly don’t understand why some people are rattled by this. This was fairly predictable. This race is still about who wins SAG and BAFTA, or whether they go different ways. If either of two women wins both, that’s that – game over. If, as we expect, Blanchett wins BAFTA and Yeoh SAG, we will have no definite answer until the envelope is opened. Or Streep comes out and proclaim the winner without reading it.
Spreading the Love: Oscars 2023
Best Picture: Everything Everywhere All At Once
Best Director: The Daniels
Best Actor: Colin Farrell
Best Actress: Cate Blanchett
Best Supporting Actor: Ke Huy Quan
Best Supporting Actress: Angela BassettFebruary 5, 2023 at 11:27 am #1205285566Huns, this is very predictable. Blanchett is winning the award. It’s the more Oscar friendly role. No way I see Yeah winning for that genre film where she’s playing a version of herself.

Lolol!
The Sunne in Splendour.

February 5, 2023 at 11:29 am #1205285572Even the presenter was shocked when she opened the envelope and didn’t see Quan. Her face…it was obviously very close 😭
But people are overreacting. BAFTA liked EEAAO way more so he’s winning there.
February 5, 2023 at 11:31 am #1205285586I genuinely like Cate in Tár (even if I don’t really like the movie that much), but a Michelle Yeoh win would be so inspired and iconic, sadly I don’t see it happening because Cate the great is coming strong.

Estrelas dear I think they are just replying this comment with irony

February 5, 2023 at 11:50 am #1205285664Cate winning here is predictable. She has been winning all major critics groups.
Oscars is Cate’s to lose. It will still be a close race but Tar is much more beloved than we thought it would be, and that will work in her favor.
Congrats Cate on your 3rd Oscar.
